Back in October 2020, during Microsoft’s Ignite Conference, the tech giants announced the arrival of Azure Communication Services. A solution designed to help Microsoft evolve into a true UCaaS provider, Azure Communications Services helps businesses to reach their customers. Through the solution, organisations can access voice, video, chat, text, SMS and PSTN services.

Microsoft notes that the solution will help all kinds of companies to strengthen their connections with clients in a world where staying close is important. Now, more than ever, delivering amazing customer experiences is a must for any business.

To further support this demand for seamless communications, Microsoft is now realising the arrival of Azure Communication Services to connect users of their app through internal Microsoft Teams users.

Combining Teams and Azure Communication Services

Starting in preview now, businesses will be able to use the Azure function to connect users through chat, video, and voice, so clients can reach employees through Teams, without any app download required. Employees also get to maintain the familiar interface of the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, where they’re already collaborating with colleagues.

Expanding the potential of Microsoft Teams with Azure Communication Services could be an incredible opportunity for today’s companies. Microsoft suggests that the solution will be beneficial in a range of scenarios. For instance, a financial advisor could use the service to help clients with an application for a loan, or a customer support agent might assist someone in setting up a new product.

The new offering will allow companies to support environments where users can launch video calls and chats with agents, advisors, and even clinical or healthcare workers in a single click. There are no complicated barriers like needing to create an account or download a new app. This update will instantly connect customers to companies when they’re most in need of quick and convenient conversations, making virtual discussions feel as effortless as possible.

Building Better Conversations for Brands and Customers

With the arrival of Azure Communication Services in Teams, businesses can easily stay closer and more connected to customers. According to Microsoft, the team has been working with countless organisations on building experiences using the new integration.

Any company looking for a new way to further leverage their Microsoft Teams investment and ecosystem, the interoperability with Azure Communications Services is a fantastic step forward. This update will offer the scalability and flexibility required to build unique app experiences that link to the Teams platform. As a bonus, Azure Communication Services will ensure that usage costs from endpoints linked to Teams will be covered by any Microsoft 365 license.

Microsoft is making it easier to build custom communication experiences across any platform- something it believes to be crucial to the future of collaboration. With Azure Communications Services, Microsoft helps to connect the users of today and tomorrow.
