Mitel Appoints David Silke as New VP of International Marketing

Global leader in business communications, Mitel, recently announced their decision to bring a new, prominent industry figure into the fold. David Silke will be taking over the helm as Vice President of International Marketing. This position will give Silke complete control over the go-to-market solutions for the APAC and EMEA markets, which compose the extent of Mitel’s international regions.

As the number 2 company in /unified-communications/ucaas market share across the globe, Mitel already has a significant footprint in the marketplace. However, they hope that appointing Silke to create new customer engagement programs for their international regions will help them to build a stronger structure for the future.

A Growing Management Team for Mitel

The decision to embrace David Silke is only the most recent in a long list of executive appointments to Mitel’s management team across EMEA and APAC, which began with the decision to make Jeremy Butt the leader of international business operations. Additional hires to be announced in recent months include Richard Roberts, who took the role of VP for Ireland and the UK & EMEA. Mark Duff also came onboard as VP for International Sales in Professional Services and Engineering. Additionally, Denise Bryant took on the title of Distribution Director for EMEA.

Silke will be working alongside these experts in the communication field to help grow Mitel’s already significant market share. The hope is that as more customers move to the cloud, the right management team will give Mitel the focus they need to get ahead of the crowd.

An Experienced Figure in Technology

According to the SVP of Mitel International, Jeremy Butt, Silke’s experience will be a powerful asset as the company moves to improve their position in APAC and EMEA. In a press release, Jeremy noted that Silke has a strong track record of taking a comprehensive approach to marketing, while focusing on the needs and demands of the sales community. Mitel feels that Silke’s approach aligns closely with their own strategy.

Silke will be bringing extensive experience to his new position, taken from 22 years working in the technology industry. He will be coming to Mitel from Juniper Networks, where was recently responsible for leading the global marketing campaigns for the brand. He also led various APAC and EMEA marketing programs for Nortel and Brocade in the past.

Silke noted that cloud-enabled communications are entering a new period of demand, as collaboration and cloud communication continue to strengthen performance for companies around the world. David hopes to be a valuable part in Mitel’s strategy for growth and long-term success.
