OpenText, a company that identifies itself as “The Information Company” recently announced its new decision to purchase XMedius. OpenText is an organisation that helps brands to gain more insight into their operations through market-leading solutions for information management, existing both in the cloud and on-premises. XMedius, on the other hand, is a provider of secure information exchange solutions, as well as unified communications tools.

XMedius will be bringing decades of patented technologies and experience solutions into the OpenText environment, to help the enterprise enhance its secure and collaborative communication offering. The XMedius technology is known throughout the world for its ability to aid organisations in having more efficient conversations and productive collaborative experiences.

A Powerful Purchase for OpenText

According to the CEO and CTO of OpenText, Mark Barrenechea, the XMedius technology currently has more than 50,000 installations across the globe, making the acquisition a fantastic step forward for the OpenText brand. The acquisition of XMedius will significantly strengthen OpenText’s already impressive position in the market for secure information exchange and unified communications.

The OpenText team is thrilled to be welcoming the strong partner network, customers, and employees of XMedius into its growing family. This new acquisition aims to reaffirm the commitment that OpenText already has to Montreal – already the environment at the strategic heart of the company’s AI and analytics development teams. With XMedius, OpenText hopes to deliver cloud and hybrid offerings to small and mid-sized businesses alike.

Looking Forward to the Future

XMedius also delivers innovative technologies to companies looking to optimise the omni-channel customer experience and connected business landscape. These offerings will help to complement the existing Customer Experience Management tools that OpenText has to offer. They will also be crucial to supporting the OpenText Business Network platform too.

The purchase price for XMedius is approximately $75 million, and the transaction will be all-cash. Currently, XMedius generates around $40 million in revenue per year. OpenText believes that the first year’s revenues will be a reduction on this, but that the purchase of XMedius will soon lead to significant growth.
