Data, networking and communications specialist Pennine has gone for gold in its latest bid to support Bury’s acclaimed arts centre, The Met.
The company has signed up to the charity-run centre’s top-tier corporate membership package.
Becoming a Gold Corporate Member provides The Met with a welcome financial injection to support its work in promoting theatre, music and the arts.
In return the company will enjoy a range of benefits. These include use of the newly refurbished venue’s Stanley Bar for business meetings and discounted room hire rates.
The new deal continues a long association with the business. The company’s Pennine Radio and Pennine IT Services divisions have provided free two-way radios and WiFi services to the Head for the Hills festival for several years.
Following The Met’s £4.6 million refurbishment Pennine IT Services also installed public and private wireless networks, alongside a new cost-saving IP telephony system. That project for the first time gave visitors to The Met access to free .
Victoria Robinson, The Met’s chief executive, thanked the firm for its latest show of support, saying:
“We have enjoyed a close working partnership with Pennine which for a number of years has sponsored the Head for the Hills festival. We are delighted that they have decided to extend this support to include corporate membership of The Met.”
“Their support enables us to continue to keep ticket prices low, develop our learning workshops, open up our facilities to community groups and establish a creative hub in our recording studio for the artists of Bury. In return our new corporate membership scheme allows businesses access to a beautiful building which is the perfect destination for music, arts, hospitality and networking. We would like to thank Pennine for continuing to be ambassadors for the arts in Bury.”
