Recently, communication experts Nimans were thrilled to announce that they had become the exclusive distributor of Samsung products. To give their new endeavor more focus and support, Samsung unveiled a new face for their team in the form of Joe Casari.

Joe joined the Nimans group as the head of the reseller support strategy for Samsung partners. The hope for the brand is that Joe’s experience and insight in the community will help to develop additional reseller opportunities for their partner community and ensure that the channel has everything they need to truly make the most out of Nimans’ position as the ultimate Samsung brand.

I spoke with Joe Casari to learn more about how he feels in his new role with Nimans, and what he predicts for the future of the company in the coming months.

Tell Us a Little Bit About Yourself

Joe comes to Nimans with a strong history in the spaces of technology, communication, and education. For almost a decade before he received his new role, Joe was working in the education technology sector for a global manufacturer called Promethean. Responsible for a number of roles within the company, including Head of International Alliances, Joe established a strong understanding of what it takes to maintain great relationships between partners and communities.

Before he was in the education industry, Joe was also the head of channel for Dolphin Telecom for three years, which highlights his knowledge of the UC space.

“Mainly I was responsible for building and supporting relationships with other brands in the tech space like Toshiba and Intel. I learned a lot about finding creative ways to enhance current business models.”

What Does Your Short-Term Strategy Look Like?

Since Joe has only just entered the halls of Nimans for the first time, I felt it might be a bit too much to ask him for a long-term view of the future. However, I was keen to find out if he had any “quick wins” in mind as he took over the Samsung section of the team.

“I think this is an incredibly exciting time for this organisation. We’re now the exclusive distributor for one of the biggest global UC brands in the world. That gives us a huge number of accolades to tap into and significant access to new opportunities too. There are plenty of chances here to build out and add more depth to our channel communities.”

Joe noted that the first step for him is making sure that all channel partners feel confident in their ability to sell Samsung products.

“I want to make sure that resellers understand that this region is crucial to the Samsung business in the UC space. We’re going to be building out some strong media and introducing new tools for the channel community too. For instance, we’ll be offering a web-based partner portal that will help people to build out their propositions.”

Additionally, Joe noted that further into the year, the channel might get to see a brand-new and revised Samsung UC partner programme.

“The intent is to accelerate and uplift our proposition, and build out deeper selling options to help the channel upskill and cross-skill with the product range.”

How Significant is the Samsung Relationship for Nimans?

It’s clear to see that Nimans are thrilled about their position as the exclusive distributor of Samsung UC products. I was interested to get Joe’s input on the importance of the collaboration for the brand.

“It’s the number one tech brand in the world, and a huge strand of our business going forward into 2018.”

As Nimans continues to progress into the year ahead, they’ll be focusing on maintaining “business as usual”, ensuring that the channels are properly equipped with the skills they need to make the most out of the new technology available.

“Samsung is a business that isn’t going to stand still – it’s going to keep growing globally and within the UK, and Ireland.”

In terms of the channel interest that Nimans feels they’ll be seeing in the year ahead, there’s a great deal of growth available.

“Research is telling us that the IT and AV industries are colliding as the end-user community demands a more complete solution. I think we’ll see some significant interest from the channels that want to engage with us because of what we can bring to market and who we represent.”

What Does the Future Look Like for Samsung and Nimans?

While it was too early for Joe to tell me anything concrete about the plans that Samsung and Nimans are making for the year ahead, one thing he did point out was that the company is very comfortable with their current portfolio and that they’re confident it meets the needs of the channel and client alike.

“We’re clear on our strategy for 2018, and our intent is to deliver slight changes as we build a more robust and secure infrastructure for long-term growth. There’s a huge opportunity here for both us, and the reseller community, and we’re going to be looking for new ways to engage with the channel in the following months, developing more cohesive and powerful relationships.”
