Babble intends to accelerate its M&A drive next year, according to CEO Matt Parker.

The firm has made nine acquisitions so far this year pushing revenues to nearly £50m, and Parker hinted that there could well be another one made before the calendar year is out.

“Our ambition increases every day,” he told UC Today.

“We made five acquisitions in 2019, and if everything goes to plan, we should have done 10 deals by the end of this year, and I expect us to do more next year than we did this year”

Parker was hesitant to comment on possible international expansion, stating that there is still a lot of potential for consolidation and expansion in the UK.

“My ambitions and those of our leadership team become more ambitious and bigger every day,” he stated.

“Is there a likelihood that we wild do stuff outside of the United Kingdom? I don’t know. But if you’d asked me that question a year ago I would have said no, it wasn’t on the agenda and wasn’t being considered. Is it part of the plan today? No. Is it something that we’ve started to talk about? Yes, it is.”

Parker also opined on the emerging trends he sees opportunity around, highlighting customer experience as an area that will become more significant for organisations in the coming years.

As we look at the market and where things are going…I think customer experience is going to become more important for businesses and organisations, generally,” he noted.

“The move towards UCaaS, collaboration-based tools, and cloud contact centre solution lends itself there. So, customer experience is going to become a more important theme in terms of how organisations think about engaging internally and externally.”

Watch out for UC Today‘s forthcoming video interview with Parker where he discusses Babble’s M&A plans in further detail
