Wildix is still a growing name in the UC and Collaboration space, but it’s gaining attention fast. With over 1.4 million users worldwide, spread across 135 countries, the company has incredible reach. Wildix also benefits from a rich history in the PBX environment. The company has worked hard on mixing an innovative development process with technical excellence in traditional telephony.

Wildix is a global company with key markets across Europe, the US, and UK. Although the platform is targeting the SME market, the scalability of the platform also lends itself to large deals. In 2018 Wildix won a large Italian government contract for over 40,000 seats and displaced a well-known vendor in the process.

The Wildix WebRTC technology ensures that the entire system is accessible via a web browser. This means that anyone with a connection and a computer can access the full functionality of the platform – wherever they’re located. Wildix also offers accompanying smartphone and desk phone apps.

Wildix History

Steve and Dimitri Osler
Steve and Dimitri Osler

Wildix started life in 2003 as the innovation of Steve and Dimitri Osler. The two brothers wanted a way to combine their expertise into a telephony system that was easy to access, configure, and deploy. The duo wanted the experience to be as intuitive as a web browser.

Already, the two brothers had designed a PBX system for a friend running a business with around 70 employees, so the next step forward seemed clear. Now we’re in 2021, Wildix has successfully developed a full WebRTC unified communications platform, with a vast collection of collaboration functions to enable external users.

Thanks to browser-to-browser communication (WebRTC), it doesn’t matter what sort of technology the people outside of an organisation are using. Anyone can connect to the Wildix platform and have a rich communications experience.

Wildix Key Features

Wildix provides users with a convenient and easily accessible solution for modern communication. Some of the most impressive key features include:

  • WMS 5 – the most recent Wildix platform dedicated to customer retention and sales. Significant updates to “Kite” align with React Native mobile apps, React-based Wizyconf, and an updated client for server APIs
  • Kite: A website widget designed by Wildix. Kite allows visitors to communicate easily with company call agents through a simple click through chat and video/audio call. There’s support for desktop and file sharing too. Kite integrates fully with the Wildix UC system to transform websites into marketing tools
  • Security: Wildix promises security by design. There’s no need for VPNs or SBCs. Data and voice are defended by native encryption.
  • CLASSOUND: HD video and audio are available through Wildix as standard. Main features include things like easy configuration through WMS and WMP. Built-in trunking, encryption enabled by default, failover by default, and migration with minimal end-user impact
  • Wizyconf: Wildix has developed an easy-to-use conferencing system and a range of accompanying hardware solutions, designed with remote users in mind. Features are included for huddle rooms and large meeting rooms alike

New Features Coming Soon

Wildix is currently working on an exciting future roadmap, including updates like:

  • A new retail solution
  • UX redesign
  • Updated Mobile app based on Reactive Native
  • Webinar functionality added to the system

Wildix Go-To-Market

The indirect go-to-market strategy from Wildix means that users can only access the platform through approved partners. The company was careful to choose partners to work with that share its values. Every partner helps customers to make the most of the solution.

Partners interested in selling Wildix gain absolute pre-sales support and deal registration guidance through the Wildix portal. There’s no direct customer strategy to speak of, and partners also have the additional benefit of no direct competition with the vendor. The Wildix offering is excellent for those who have an established customer base and need a clear cloud migration strategy.

Integration with Microsoft Teams

To further enhance the value of the system, Wildix also supports companies already using Microsoft Teams for their collaboration ecosystem.

Customers can take advantage of rich telephony features from Wildix alongside Microsoft Teams. The company has developed a comprehensive Teams client add-in, providing functionality directly within Microsoft Teams. This approach reduces the need for additional licensing purchased from Microsoft. It’s also worth noting that the experience is extremely convenient and cost-effective, even if you have complex needs for call routing.

Wildix Platform Benefits

Wildix stands out as a valuable choice for business owners who want to make the most out of their communication and collaboration opportunities in an ever-changing environment. As companies continue to interact in a more dispersed and digital world, Wildix makes it easy to access the functionality that you need without the complexity.

There’s no need for any additional hardware and software deployment that could slow down your interactions, and Wildix is flexible enough to support companies as they expand all over the world, with a truly comprehensive coverage level. Our favourite benefits include:

  • Global reach: Wildix provides a truly international SIP service, with presence support for 133 countries. This is ideal for companies seeking out global growth
