Workplace from Meta has secured its largest customer yet through a 1.9m-user deal with McDonaldβs.

The platform will be used as a communication and shift management tool, enabling workers to collaborate over mobile and strengthen employee relationships.
McDonaldβs believes Workplace will enhance employee experience for its workers, including frontline workers.

Although this news has only recently been made generally available, McDonaldβs has already started using Workplace in restaurants across eleven markets, including Australia, New Zealand, Portugal, Poland, Slovakia, and company-owned restaurants in the United States.Β Β
McDonaldβs has plans to extend Workplace to its restaurants in Canada, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Switzerland, and Saudi Arabia.Β Β
The results from the integration of Workplace show it reduces communication time lags for frontline workers by 34%.Β Β
73% of Portuguese restaurants are actively using Workplace every week, and 140,000 messages are sent in Spain using Workplace each month.Β Β
In Australia, 100,000 accounts have been claimed, and 85% of employees are active weekly users.Β Β

The Workplace Knowledge Library also gives McDonaldβs employees a means of locating training documents and other information they may need for their roles, such as promotional materials, business updates, and learning opportunities.Β Β
According to Meta, McDonaldβs was searching for an accessible and intuitive collaboration platform which could integrate into its current system.
Last year, Workplace renewed a deal with Vodafone, covering a workforce of 90,000. BT is another to have adopted Workplace and reports that the collaboration platform has led to a 70% increase in employee engagement.
