Zoho has unveiled its unified communications platform as it launches new collaboration technology to offer businesses easier communication.

The company is establishing its Zoho Workplace product as a unified office platform that combines collaboration, productivity, and communications tools.

According to Zoho, the platform is now a flexible, full-featured business mail and cloud office suite built on a common data model and unified with search and AI.

Raju Vegesna, Zoho Chief Evangelist, said: “In the past year, Zoho Workplace adoption has accelerated as businesses of all sizes transition to digital-forward, hybrid work.

“With a clear focus on continued innovation, Zoho is well-positioned to thrive during this time of readjustment.

“The goal of Zoho Workplace is to enable businesses to unify their work to a point where the line between apps disappears.

“It’s heartening to see so many new businesses join the Zoho family, using Zoho Workplace as their customizable center of gravity.”

According to Zoho, its Workplace platform has grown 30 percent year-over-year and has more than 16 million users worldwide, with migrations from Google, Microsoft, and GoDaddy to the platform almost doubling in 2022.

Zoho attributes the substantial growth to increasing business demand for simplified, streamlined solutions that maintain standards for user privacy, as well as rising costs from other collaboration platform providers.

As a result, Zoho has added the following features to its Zoho Workplace product:

  • Zoho Trident: The new app is a collaboration, productivity, and communication experience platform that combines mail, messages, audio/video calls, calendar, tasks, and more into one place. Zoho Trident is the company’s first native desktop app for email and chat. Trident will move away from individual product experiences as Zoho aims to provide customers with a unified platform.
  • Voice platform: The Zoho Voice platform is now a full phone system integrated directly with the team collaboration app, Zoho Cliq, and the web conferencing app, Zoho Meeting. Employees can now make direct line calls and send SMS messages, as well as receive inbound calls across the apps.
  • Zoho Webinar: Based within the Zoho Meeting app, Zoho Webinar enables businesses to broadcast themselves to thousands of attendees and engage with them in several ways, including polls and Q&As. Users can also present to an audience using virtual file sharing without sharing their screen, upload material before the webinar and share it with attendees during the session.
  • AI-based grammar tool: Zoho is released BluePencil, an AI-based tool that brings writing suggestions and a text editor that can be used on any third-party webpage.
  • Drag and drop: Universal drag and drop functionality allows users to save time doing things across multiple Zoho Workplace products. An example would be dragging an email attachment and dropping it into a chat with a colleague to send it directly to them.
  • Security additions: Mobile device management capabilities and OTP-restricted emails have been added to the Workplace suite as an extra focus on security is made.
  • TrueSync: Zoho has added TrueSync to Zoho WorkDrive, so that hard drive storage limits are no longer a concern. The solution creates a mirror of all WorkDrive files and folders on the desktop so users can seamlessly switch between their computer and the cloud. Users can access files locally and make changes without using hard drive space.

Pricing

Zoho has confirmed that its Workplace suite is available to customers in three editions, which are Standard, Professional, and Zoho Mail.

Standard is available for $3 per user per month, Professional is $6 per user per month, and Zoho Mail is $1 per user per month.
