Q-SYS has appointed Christopher Jaynes as its new Chief Technology Officer and Jason Shangkuan as its new Chief Digital Officer.

As the CTO, Q-SYS says Jaynes will spearhead all facets of R&D, including software, hardware, mechanical, test, and systems engineering, to ensure integrated and effective product outcomes for customers. Q-SYS outlined that Shangkuan will spearhead the company’s digital transformation initiatives, modernise its data infrastructure, and leverage AI to unlock new growth opportunities.

Jatan Shah, President of QSC, said:

We are thrilled to have Chris and Jason in these critical leadership roles. Their leadership will help us capitalise on the opportunities to build a high-quality product development organization that can scale with our business.”

Since joining Q-SYS in 2023 as the Senior Vice President (SVP) of Software Technologies, the company says that Jaynes has enhanced software quality, advanced AI research, and optimised technology delivery, positioning the company for sustained growth.

“As Q-SYS continues to grow as a software-led platform that’s deeply integrated our hardware technologies, it is critical that software, hardware, and our program management teams operate in an integrated and cohesive manner to deliver both reliable and amazing product outcomes for our customers,” added Jaynes. “I am excited to lead this talented team and drive our R&D efforts to new heights.”

Meanwhile, Shangkuan joins QSC as the CDO, bringing over a decade of experience from McKinsey & Company, where he was a leader in the digital and AI practice. Q-SYS credits him with successfully leading digital transformations for top technology companies, driving significant business growth.

“Joining Q-SYS at this pivotal moment is an incredible opportunity,” affirmed Shangkuan. “I look forward to unlocking new business value and AI-enabled customer solutions, continuing our business model transformation towards software and cloud solutions, and partnering closely with business leaders to deliver exceptional digital experiences.”

What Else Has Q-SYS Been Up To In 2024?

In September, Brompton Technology joined the Q-SYS Technology Program by collaborating on an advanced LED controller plugin.

Brompton Technology, a leader in LED video processing for high-demand applications, has introduced the Brompton Tessera LED Controller Plugin. This plugin integrates with the Q-SYS Ecosystem, a collaborative platform where software and hardware manufacturers develop seamless, cloud-manageable audio, video, and control solutions. The integration enhances both functionality and the overall user experience within the Q-SYS platform.

Last month, Sennheiser introduced a Q-SYS Control Plugin for TeamConnect Ceiling Medium (TCC M).

Sennheiser added a new control plugin in collaboration with Q-SYS as part of the Q-SYS Ecosystem. This ecosystem fosters collaboration between software and hardware manufacturers to create and integrate products compatible with the Q-SYS platform, enhancing functionality and interoperability across solutions.

The Sennheiser plugin is now available in the Q-SYS Designer Asset Manager, having passed rigorous testing and approval by Q-SYS. It has earned a certified badge, ensuring its reliability and seamless integration with the Q-SYS audio, video, and control platform.

Meanwhile, in June, Q-SYS introduced updates to its cloud-based monitoring and management system, Q-SYS Reflect, allowing simplified deployment and scalability.

By incorporating advanced monitoring capabilities into their full-stack AV solution, Q-SYS Reflect allows users to utilise AI, data analytics, and cloud-manageable architecture to enhance system performance and control. This integration enables more efficient management and monitoring of AV infrastructures, optimising overall system operations.
