As the demand for collaboration and communication solutions grows stronger than ever, an Alibaba-owned platform for enterprise chat known as “DingTalk” recently revealed that it would be launching an English version of the app in India. The system is designed to support both small and medium-sized enterprises, and it represents the first active effort by DingTalk to move outside of China since its launch in 2015.

DingTalk has already established itself as a popular application throughout organisations and enterprises in China. In fact, there are over five million companies currently using the Chinese version. However, Alibaba has never been a group content to rest on their laurels. Now, the organisation aims to ramp up their use cases across Malaysia and India by the end of their fiscal year in March.

According to the head of global business development for DingTalk, Chris Wang, the aim of the app is to collaborate and communicate across various locations, enhancing productivity within the workforce.

Wider Expansion of the DingTalk App

The DingTalk brand is also considering expanding their launch throughout other South-East Asian spaces too, with a Japanese language update already underway. Wang noted that the brand believes that this next step could be the future of the empowered workplace and that DingTalk may have the potential to redefine organisational connectivity.

The app is currently available for download on Android, iOS, Windows, and Mac operating systems, with business-focused functions designed to enhance collaboration. It supports video, audio, and conference calls, as well as delivering solutions for chat, email, and message reminders. Video and voice services are currently available exclusively through VoIP for customers outside of China, and the app means that businesses can make approvals, manage attendance, and even send files as large as 700mb.

Comprehensive Business Collaboration

With DingTalk, businesses should successfully be able to host and book meetings that are specifically catered to their needs, while managing important CRM information, and creating service tickets that support team workflow. You can also establish private chats between co-workers, and integrate with third-party SaaS applications for a valuable enterprise ecosystem.

Ultimately, the Alibaba-owned DingTalk app could be a popular alternative to similar solutions like Workplace by Facebook, Amazon Chime, and Cisco Spark.
