Amongst many other things, digital transformation has had a significant impact on the mobile communications market, whose rapid growth has created a huge window of opportunity for businesses looking to expand into new territories and increase profit.

9 is a dedicated to helping its Partners achieve this goal by informing them of all the new mobile opportunities that are available and how they can be successfully seized.  Sounds Interesting, huh?  Well, to help shine further light on 9 and how they are helping their Partners enter this brave new world, UC Today had a sit down with the company’s Director of Partners, Adam Cathcart, to see what he had to say.

Introduce us to Nine

The first thing we asked of Adam was to explain a little bit about the company’s background and how it got from the company it was to the company it is today.

He informed us that 9 has offered mobile solutions on Vodafone and O2 to its Partner base for a number of years, but over the last 8-9 months, 9’s mobile proposition has undergone a huge revamp, where the brand has been working closely with both networks to provide a really compelling mobile solution that enables Partners to compete effectively with other service providers and networks.

Cathcart explained, “With this proposition, we’re really trying to make it simple for an IT or Telecom business that hasn’t offered mobile previously, or are quite new to offering mobile, a helping hand to ensure they are able to close mobile sales more successfully.”

Having worked in the mobile industry for a number of years, Cathcart claims he’s encountered many businesses from outside of the mobile industry, who have failed to close mobile sales through a lack of confidence in the product or support for the sales process.

With this revamped proposition, however, 9 offers to bridge that gap and give Partners the opportunity to overcome their difficulties by helping them to understand the market better and explaining how to create and exploit opportunities.

Another interesting advancement in 9’s proposal is its Mobile Training Academy that puts Partners through a vigorous training scheme to teach them the mechanics of creating a mobile proposition.

Cathcart added, “From the Mobile Training Academy, Partners can go away with a selling template document that enables them to easily position a deal. It creates everything from being able to identify what tariff is best suited for the customer, identify what hardware is available and how it can be structured through a leasing model, or paid up front. It also tells them how profitable that deal will be, thus giving them all the information needed to qualify the opportunity.

Armed with this knowledge, the difficulties ICT and Telco Companies experience in trying to sell a product that is new to them are eradicated and they can offer their customers an all in one solution that capitalises on the soaring mobile market.

What’s coming up next for 9?

As well as helping Partners who are new to the world of mobile make that transition, Cathcart also stressed how 9’s proposition is geared up to support those Partners already familiar with mobile, by honing their existing skillset and making their pitches more appealing to a modern digital market.

Commenting on the development of 9’s upcoming plan to implement larger data bundles to accommodate the dramatic rise in mobile internet usage for cloud-based applications, he adds:

“As time goes by, we’re seeing data bundles for an individual user rise massively, to as much as 50GB per month.  If I look across our base, the amount of data being used by our Partners has more than doubled over the last 12 months and it is really exciting to see what people are going to be utilising these devices for”

Cathcart refers to the multitude of applications such as VoIP and /unified-communications/ucaas that have altered business communications and transformed the mobile phone into a business communications hub.

Reflecting on this conversation, it’s clear to see why the mobile market has grown so much and how the solution offered by 9 is a great attraction for Partners who are looking to branch out into new markets or secure their place in an existing one.
