TrilbyTV has upgraded the Transform Trust group of schools with advanced digital signage solutions.

The digital signage business implemented the screens across all 26 of the Transform Trust’s schools in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire in partnership with the IT reseller Jigsaw24.

TrilbyTV’s Multisite feature is a tool for users working in Multi-Academy Trusts, groups, or school districts. Multisite gives trust admins more significant control over users, players, and content across all of their schools.

Phil Herd, Associate Headteacher at Transform Trust, was in a Nottingham school when he came across a screen showing the school diary. He realised that’s what he wanted to achieve across the Trust’s entire programme — an ambition Multisite helps fulfil.

Transform Trust, founded in 2013, operates on the principle that education can profoundly impact lives and communities. Transform Trust emphasises the importance of each of its 26 schools’ unique identities, intending to allow them to retain autonomy while benefiting from a supportive framework to foster continuous improvement. Effective and seamless communication and collaboration are naturally pivotal to this process.

Following the introduction of TrilbyTV screens in every staffroom across the 26 schools, the Multisite capability has streamlined staff communications. Instead of sending presentations to each school, the Trust now uses a single presentation broadcast to all staffroom screens simultaneously.

Moreover, by utilising TrilbyTV’s Web Content feature with Google Slides, content updates are automated, eliminating the need to manually re-upload presentations to TrilbyTV.

“It’s really helped us get into staffrooms so staff haven’t got to trawl through things: it’s there, it’s clear,” said Sarah Doig, PA to the CEO at Transform Trust and who manages the content creation process. “We’ve had more interaction from staff, we’ve had more sign-ups to events, many more of our newsletters have been read. It’s been a really great addition.”

Sneinton Primary School, one of the Trust’s schools, expanded their TrilbyTV subscription to Unlimited screens and set up screens in several different spaces across the school, including a wellbeing room, a pupil leadership room, and a community room. “Those screens are showing content relevant to the purpose of the room, which I think is a fantastic use of the screens,” Herd explained.

Recently, Ofsted and the SIAMS Church inspected Sneinton and the screens were leveraged to enrich the pupil and staff interviews.

Mark Lowe, Headteacher at Sneinton School, praised the benefits of digital signage in education:

The trust has been able to deliver messaging to staff about employee benefits, key events and CPD that’s coming up. It’s become a way that our staff can join in with a much bigger community and engage in the life of the trust.”

Jigsaw24 And The Digital Signage Installation Itself

TrilbyTV collaborated with Jigsaw24, a provider of IT solutions, on the Transform Trust project. An Apple Education Specialist focused on teaching and learning technology, and the company offers everything from full-managed services to initiatives like TrilbyTV.

“Their education team have been fantastic,” Herd said. “About fifty per cent of our schools are one-to-one, and they’ve been really good at ensuring our devices become embedded within each school. In things like working with TrilbyTV, they are the ones who are able to see what’s best practice and see what apps and companies are out there.”
