Access4 has announced its acquisition of Luminate Wholesale (Luminate) in a push to expand its global footprint.
“Bringing SASBOSS to the UK is a game-changer for service providers looking to differentiate themselves in a rapidly evolving market,”
Tim Jackson, Founder and CEO at Access4, said.
The acquisition of the UK-based Luminate will bring Access4’s SaaS Communications Platform, SASBOSS, to the UK market.
SASBOSS’ Expansion with Luminate
Luminate Wholesale is a UK-based telecommunications company that specializes in providing white-label telecom services to channel partners, enabling them to control their brand, pricing, and customer experience.
These customizable solutions aim to help resellers differentiate themselves in the market.
The acquisition by Access4 opens the company up to Luminate’s market position and capabilities.
This takeover, therefore, introduces Access4’s SaaS Communications Platform, SASBOSS, to the UK market.
“What excites us most about this partnership is how the SASBOSS platform will transform the way our partners operate,”
Jonathan Walker, Managing Director of Luminate, said.
SASBOSS is Access4’s proprietary SaaS platform designed for MSPs in the UC space.
This provisioning and management platform aims to streamline the implementation of carrier-grade UC, eliminating significant operational and strategic costs.
SASBOSS offers a comprehensive suite of features, including automated provisioning, invoicing, and management, as well as integration with best-of-breed software providers like Tollring’s iCall Suite for call analytics.
The platform enables MSPs to easily configure, price, and quote new customer opportunities, design call flows, and create custom-branded proposals.
The expansion into the UK comes as the market undergoes a transformation following the copper network shutdown.
The UK’s copper-based phone network (PSTN and ISDN) is scheduled to be switched off by January 31, 2027, though the initial deadline was December 2025.
This means traditional landlines will transition to digital, internet-based phone services (VoIP).
“With the copper switch-off accelerating the need for next-generation cloud solutions, our platform enables partners to scale efficiently, automate service delivery, and provides end-customers with best-in-class unified communications, contact centre, and user experience solutions,” Jackson said.
SASBOSS can help service providers automate, scale, and future-proof their cloud communication offerings and take advantage of that influx of companies now looking to make the transition to the cloud.
The acquisition also brings the 10 Luminate staff into Access4, enabling continuity in the transition.
Luminate’s Jonathan Walker will also become a new member of the Access4 executive leadership team.
Access4’s Acquisition Strategy
Access4 has previously used acquisitions tactically to advance its strategy.
Last year, the company Access4 acquired Channel UC to extend its enterprise communications product portfolio.
The acquisition saw it get a new omnichannel contact center, AI product development, professional services, and cloud Session Border Control (SBC).
