Maintel has announced that it is to integrate Azzurri fully into its main business following its purchase of the UC brand in May this year.

The Manchester based managed services provider snapped up Azzurri, which was a channel partner of both 02 and EE, for £48.5 million.

As of October, both businesses will operate under the single Maintel brand, with Azzurri’s comms accounts and reseller business being absorbed and managed fully into its parent company.

Maintel CEO Eddie Buxton, who at the time of the takeover said it was part of a wider strategy for his business to move into the hosted cloud and data market, said:

The integration of Azzurri into Maintel has continued at pace and we’re pleased that everything is going to plan.

“We pride ourselves on providing agility to customers, and our own integration project has shown how agile we are as a business. I’m pleased that our staff, customers and partners can now access a single brand across all touchpoints, as we continue to make collaborating and communicating simple, flexible and secure for our customers.

The newly expanded Maintel business is believed to have a turnover of almost £150 million, with £95 million coming from the UC channels gained from Azzurri. The merger represents the latest and largest in a series of successful acquisitions by Maintel, as it set its sights on becoming a major player in mixed managed services.
