What’s New in Webex Meetings?

As companies across the globe continue to invest more into collaboration and remote working tools, solutions like Cisco Webex Meetings are more popular than ever. Not to be outdone by competitors like Microsoft and Slack, Cisco recently announced a barrage of updates to its Meetings service. The September 2020 update includes a range of new things to explore, including simpler meeting controls, and new virtual background options.

The latest changes to the Webex Meetings platform promise users a more intuitive way to meet with their colleagues and share ideas. There’s a new centralised meeting lobby for administrators, and automatic locking features to prevent people from entering the conversation too late. You can check out some of the new additions from Cisco in our full report here.

Take Video Calls on Your TV with Google

Have you ever thought that taking video calls on your PC was just too stuffy? Google could have the answer. The team responsible for Google Meet – Google’s meeting application – recently announced a selection of upcoming new features. The latest changes to Google Meet include virtual backgrounds, and the new “Google Meet on Cast” function. This cast feature transforms any room in the home into a conference space by allowing you to take a meeting on your TV.

Streaming conversations to your television should be simple enough, provided that you have a Chromecast dongle available.
