BT Wholesale has announced its new Microsoft Teams Phone Mobile UCaaS solution to empower channel partners.

Teams Phone Mobile is designed specifically for the UK Wholesale channel and integrates Microsoft Teams’ enterprise-grade collaboration tools with EE’s mobile network. BT Wholesale stresses that this powerful combination ensures reliable, unified communications for today’s distributed workforce.

“Bringing Teams Phone Mobile into our portfolio makes sense for our partners and their customers, and demonstrates our commitment to being front and centre, driving innovation in the market,” said Thea Sztejka, Managing Director at BT Wholesale. “We see significant opportunities for channel partners to diversify and grow within the business communications market.”

With over 300 million monthly users globally, Microsoft Teams represents a ready-made market brimming with potential. By combining Microsoft Teams with the UK’s best mobile network, our partners can help empower customers to work anywhere, anytime, while strengthening their brand and driving ROI.”

As work increasingly occurs across hybrid and distributed environments, BT Wholesale outlines that Teams Phone Mobile aims to enable users to handle calls, messages, and collaboration tasks from a single interface across multiple devices.

BT Wholesale points to strong market indicators behind the development of Teams Phone Mobile. With 72 percent of UK employers now offering flexible working arrangements, and 57 percent of employees citing smartphones as critical to their daily roles, mobility has become a cornerstone of modern business operations.

Furthermore, 71 percent of Microsoft Teams users regularly access the platform via mobile apps, highlighting the growing demand for integrated, mobile-first communication solutions that align with evolving workstyles.

With the increasing demand from today’s workforce for secure, flexible, and hybrid working experiences, Teams Phone Mobile provides an ideal solution,” added Dr Nicola Millard, Principal Innovation Partner at BT Group. “ It helps teams to perform at their best by optimising time, reducing costs, and making workflows more seamless – anytime, anywhere. Paired with EE’s speed and reliability, it empowers businesses to stay connected and productive across devices and applications.”

For end users, activation requires a Teams Phone SKU or a Microsoft 365 E5 license that includes Teams. Channel partners can access the solution through Complete Mobile, delivering a streamlined, turnkey offering that simplifies deployment and enhances productivity.

BT Wholesale’s Microsoft Teams Phone Mobile’s Feature Set in Detail

For users, Teams Phone Mobile enhances call reliability by using both mobile networks and fixed connectivity, allowing them to maintain high-quality calls wherever they are. BT Wholesale emphasises that employees can switch seamlessly between mobile and desktop devices without dropping calls or losing context, fostering a more fluid and responsive work experience.

Collaboration is simplified by elevating mobile calls to Microsoft Teams on any device, enabling users to switch between voice and richer collaboration tools on the fly. A unified interface across devices also provides access to shared call histories, voicemail, and presence settings, discarding the need to manage multiple apps.

For organisations, Teams Phone Mobile supports a single number across mobile, desktop, and Teams, enabling secure, flexible work from any location or device. Users can place and receive calls using either the native mobile dialer or the Teams app, aspiring to ensure continuity without complexity.

BT Wholesale adds that security and compliance are embedded. Businesses can apply policies like recording and retention to mobile calls, ensuring outgoing calls appear as if from the organisation, protecting both users and corporate identity. By consolidating fixed-line and mobile services, organisations can also reduce device sprawl, lower infrastructure costs, and streamline support, making communications more efficient and scalable for the hybrid workplace.

Vodafone Business Launches Microsoft Teams Phone Mobile to Enable and Secure Flexible Workforces

BT Wholesale is rapidly following Vodafone Business, which launched its own Microsoft Teams Phone Mobile offering last month.

Now available to enterprise customers and Vodafone’s indirect channel partners, Microsoft Teams Phone Mobile seeks to enable organisations to assign a single mobile number to employees who work seamlessly across Microsoft Teams and their mobile devices.

This solution aims to eliminate the need to toggle between apps, allowing users to make and receive business calls natively on their smartphones or directly within Teams. The result is a more agile, responsive, and location-independent workforce.

The service is built on the foundation of Vodafone’s robust mobile infrastructure, featuring widespread 5G coverage and advanced security capabilities. Additionally, Teams Phone Mobile is reinforced by enterprise-grade security frameworks, granular policy controls, and compatibility with existing compliance solutions, ensuring that mobile collaboration meets corporate standards for protection and governance.
