One of the biggest problems faced by business leaders today is ensuring that the entire workforce has access to the same information, support and tools. Nowhere is this more true than in the manufacturing sector, where frontline staff work in fast-paced, and often dangerous, environments.
But while desk-based workers have had their working lives revolutionised by collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams, frontline workers have typically not had access to the same functionality over communication platforms. This was a problem known all too well by labelling-specialists Arca Etichette, who knew that optimal results and efficiency depended on close cooperation between the office and the production site through DECT technology.
Hereβs how FAR Networks partnered with enterprise mobility solutions provider Spectralink to revolutionise Arca Etichetteβs workforce collaboration.
Building on strong foundations
Arca specialises in self-adhesive labels and systems for labelling and marking. Like many production businesses, the companyβs premises house both an industrial site and an office building, with communication between the two one of the businessβs major priorities.
For years, the company has utilised Spectralinkβs suite of enterprise-grade DECT devices, supported by FAR Networks, a system integrator with extensive experience in the development of networks and business collaboration tools. But Arca was always on theΒ lookout for new ways of improving its operations through closer collaboration.
Thatβs why when FAR suggested that Arca streamline its hardware and systems through Spectralinkβs native Microsoft Teams integration, the company leapt at the opportunity.
Revolutionising commucations
βThe integration of our DECT Spectralink devices with Microsoft Teams means that itβs finally possible for everyone in the business β including our production site staff and those on the move within the company β to communicate with the same ease,β said Paolo Sala, ICT Administrator for Arca Etichette.
Arca began its implementation process in September 2022, and within a month its entire suite of DECT devices had been integrated with Microsoft Teams. The company is already reaping the benefits, with frontline workers able to quickly share their status and arrange call backs, and office workers able to better manage workflows in the production site.
βEveryoneβs productivity has increased and so has staff satisfaction because we are now able to collaborate and manage production activities in a more transparent, immediate way,β adds Sala. βSix years on from the purchase of our hardware devices and with just a change of license, weβve been able to upgrade seamlessly to a modern system that is completely integrated with our communication and collaboration platform of choice.
