Ooma has upgraded its Office smart communications platform for enterprises with several advanced features to boost team collaboration and customer experience.
Among the new features coming to Ooma Office are a “Contact Us” widget, an Auto Redialer and an Online Whiteboard for video conferencing.
Ooma Office is pitched as an affordable, scalable service designed to help small-to-medium-sized businesses compete more effectively with larger companies.
Dennis Peng, Senior Vice President of Product Management at Ooma, commented:
These new features, added at no extra cost to Ooma Office Pro and Ooma Office Pro Plus customers, are part of our mission to close the gap between technology previously available only to big organizations and bring these powerful tools to SMBs. We’re excited to help businesses of all sizes to communicate with their prospects and customers quickly, efficiently and through the channel of their choice – whether it’s voice, text or video.”
Ooma Office offers three pricing tiers with no contracts: Ooma Office Essentials at $19.95 per user per month, Ooma Office Pro at $24.95 per user per month, and Ooma Office Pro Plus at $29.95 per user per month, excluding taxes and fees.
More Specifics On The New Capabilities
One of Ooma Office’s new standout features is the “Contact Us” Widget, which allows Ooma Office customers to add a pop-up form to their websites. Visitors can submit their name, mobile phone number, and a message through this widget. Employees with access to the text messaging inbox can immediately view and respond to these submissions from their desktop or mobile app, improving customer engagement and response times.
The new Auto Dialer feature is designed for teams in customer support, sales, and accounts receivables who need to make a high volume of outbound calls. The Auto Dialer queues calls from a pre-loaded spreadsheet, automatically displaying the next call on the agent’s screen once the previous call is completed. This feature enhances productivity by allowing agents to focus on the conversation rather than dialling numbers, and they can also enter notes during the call.
Another new addition is Scheduled Messages, which allows SMS text messages to be scheduled for automatic sending at a future date and time. Ooma stresses that this feature is particularly useful for busy service managers who can prepare customer notifications over the weekend to be sent during regular business hours, ensuring timely communication without the need for manual intervention.
Call Park, previously available only on desk phones, can now be managed through the Ooma Office desktop and mobile apps. This feature allows multiple inbound calls to be placed on hold and either resumed later or picked up by other team members. Users can see a list of parked calls in the app, including the name and phone number of each caller when Caller ID information is available, streamlining call management.
During Ooma Meetings videoconferences, users can now launch an Online Whiteboard. This tool offers a variety of pens, text entry tools, colours, and shapes, facilitating collaborative idea-sharing and project work. This addition makes it easier for teams to visualise concepts and work together in real time, even when remote.
Finally, the Team Chat feature, previously available only on the desktop app, is now accessible in the Ooma Office mobile app. This expansion allows users to participate in group chat while on the go, enhancing team communication and collaboration regardless of location.
All newly announced features are available in Ooma Office Pro Plus, while the Contact Us Widget, Scheduled Messages, and Call Park on the desktop and mobile apps are also available in Ooma Office Pro.
Ooma’s 2023
Last October, Ooma acquired 2600Hz for roughly $33 million in cash.
The acquisition of 2600Hz’s reseller and carrier-focused portfolio of applications notably included Kazoo, an open-source communications platform, alongside proprietary applications, all integrated through open APIs. Ooma emphasised this enhancement positioned Ooma to offer a comprehensive suite of UCaaS, CCaaS and CPaaS solutions. Furthermore, the inclusion of AI tools and apps reinforced Ooma’s commitment to providing cutting-edge comms solutions to businesses.
In August, Ooma announced a similar swathe of UC and CC updates to Ooma Office.
The new capabilities included online bookings, one-to-many messaging, messaging templates, team chat, CRM integrations, and an interface for the Ooma Office desktop app.
