Sangoma has partnered with networking infrastructure distributor Sol Distribution to accelerate the digital transformations of UK businesses.
Sangoma and Sol’s partnership aims to provide businesses with simple and cost-effective access to hardware and software solutions that can help them modernise their digital infrastructure.
Simon Horton, VP of Sales, Europe at Sangoma Technologies, said:
The UK switch-off of the Public Service Telephone Network (PSTN) scheduled for 2025 means many businesses will look to technology providers to help them digitise. As a result of this partnership, those providers will now be able to engage with Sol Distribution and benefit from the smart functionality, reliability, and value for money that are the characteristics of the strong Sangoma suite of products.”
The partnership was prompted by Sangoma and Sol’s realisation that thousands of UK businesses are facing the approaching termination of traditional analogue telephony with the PSTN switch off in two years.
“Businesses are hungry for the benefits which come with the deployment of modern, digital communication hardware and software, and we are looking forward to working with Sol Distribution to capitalise on the opportunity that presents to us all,” Horton added.
The partnership complements Sangoma’s global reputation and suite of innovative UCaaS products and services and Sol Distribution’s network of resellers and system integrators. This will empower thousands of SMBs aspiring to transform their legacy infrastructure into digital, cloud operations.
“Together, we can provide resellers and system integrators with not only business communication solutions capable of positively transforming the way their customers work but also the ability to gain a competitive edge, open up more revenue streams, and benefit from highly attractive margins,” said Graeme Sutton, Managing Director at Sol Distribution.
A Year of Executive Change for Sangoma
In August, Sangoma appointed its new Chief Executive Officer, Charles Salameh.
Salameh was previously Global Head of Account Expansion at Infosys, where he oversaw revenue growth and expansion across Infosys’ almost $18.2 billion book of business, according to the company’s reported revenue for the Financial Year 2023. Salameh also formerly held senior leadership positions at Bell Canada, Nortel Networks, HP and DXC.
In September, Jeremy Wubs was appointed Sangoma’s new Chief Operating Officer.
Wubs had 20 years of experience as a technology and transformation executive with a CV of producing positive financial results in competitive markets. Wubs introduced knowledge and expertise in managing and growing established and emerging products tailored to the small, medium, and enterprise segments.
Salameh formally assumed his role on September 1, and both executive appointments ushered in a new era as Sangoma aimed to continue driving revenue and focus on operational efficiency after several acquisitions in recent years.
What Else Has Sangoma Been Up To This Year?
In May, Sangoma launched the “Sangoma Suite” communications bundle, which included UCaaS solutions and platform integrations.
Describing itself as a “trusted leader in delivering cloud-based Communications as a Service solutions for companies of all sizes”, Sangoma introduced a thorough package of critical communications solutions. Complementing the core components of the Sangoma Suite, the company also offered discounts for businesses wishing to add in its contact centre, phones, SD-WAN, and cloud security solutions.
In April, Sangoma announced that its cloud-based contact centre platform, Sangoma CX, had received new omnichannel features, including being equipped with web chat support.
The functionality allowed agents to engage with customers through Sangoma’s platform interface. As the service is omnichannel, it enabled users to oversee customers and their requests uniformly across phone calls and web chat interactions, simplifying the process and minimising waiting times. Agents could blend between calls and web chat interactions without crossing wires while offering agents and customers more options in addressing customers’ concerns.
