Presenter Patrick brings you the latest news updates from summer 2019. The UC Today News Update will bring you regular videos summarising the biggest stories from the worlds of unified communications, collaboration and customer experience.

First up we examine the latest release from Gartner. Its 2019 UCaaS Magic Quadrant has been highly anticipated and Patrick takes a look at the latest report highlighting the changes in this year’s iteration. Microsoft and Cisco have made ground this year and Google continue to encroach in the market. UC Today will be releasing a video providing detailed analysis of the latest version over the coming weeks.

Patrick then moves onto cover some Microsoft related news. At the end of July, Microsoft, announced the retirement date for Skype for Business Online as the 31st of July 2021. The news round also covers the latest news from Microsoft’s partner conference Inspire 2019.

Earlier in the summer Slack had its IPO on the New York Stock Exchange. The incredibly successful IPO, where its anticipated value exceeded prior expectations, was followed by a series of high profile platform outages and Patrick examines how this may have impacted the stock’s value.

Finally Patrick covers the main headlines from this year’s UC Awards 2019. The winners in each of the twelve categories were revealed in a digital award ceremony at the start of August. You can see the full details of UC Awards 2019 here.
