South West Communications Group announced some fantastic news for their entire organisation recently. The group, otherwise known as SWComms, were established as a Microsoft Authorised partner for education, or an AEP. This meant that the company had officially managed to demonstrate its unwavering ability to meet the needs of education customers in an increasingly technology-based environment.

What Does Being a Microsoft AEP Involve?

In order for any business to earn the commendable position of Microsoft AEP, they need to go through some pretty significant testing. The idea is that Microsoft will only authorise companies or groups that are able to prove their level of educational market expertise. The program for AEP individuals was designed to train participating resellers throughout the market on the academic licensing requirements held by Microsoft, as well as authorising them to buy and resell those licenses. Additionally, the test helps to demonstrate to any potential customer that they have been approved as a knowledgeable solution for Microsoft education.

SWComms currently provides an advanced range of communication solutions to universities, colleges, and schools in their area, including web filtering solutions, services for internet connectivity, advanced data networks, and standard telephone and WiFi systems.

A Sign of Commitment

According to the ICT director for SWComms, John Holdstock, the recent AEP authorisation from Microsoft just helps to outline the company’s commitment to becoming a specialist in the world of IT education. It has helped to demonstrate their vast knowledge of the Microsoft network, as well as the academic products that they offer.

The business currently hopes to accelerate the success of their education customers by serving as an adviser for all their IT requirements.

In response to the authorisation, the vice president for education in Microsoft’s world-wide Sector, Anthony Salcito, announced that by becoming an AEP, partners are able to show their customers that they are committed, and fully trained when it comes to offering discount Microsoft academic products to those throughout the educational environment. The latest authorisation, along with a range of education partner initiatives offered by Microsoft help to give partners the recognition they need when it comes to addressing their areas of expertise.

Additionally, the Microsoft AEP solution should help to give customers the confidence of knowing that they’re buying from a specialist in the world of academics. Today, as a new Microsoft AEP, SWComms should be able to help all manner of educational facilities make the most of Microsoft solutions like Office 365.
