Tata Communications continues growing its GlobalRapide Cloud Voice service coverage to 48 countries, including heavily regulated markets. The service is augmented by the newly launched Tata Communications’ GlobalRapide Cloud Number offering that allows customers to establish global connections from a single window. The expanded voice coverage enables Tata Communications to target new customers in markets it did not previously reach directly and to provide a more comprehensive offering to existing customers that have global operations.

The enhanced coverage footprint also allows Tata Communications to solve two painpoints that often affect customers. Customers who do not have a local legal entity can now procure voice services without an issue. This is a huge benefit to organisations that are expanding into new markets but do not have a local legal entity yet. In these scenarios, the previous need to set up a local legal entity in order to obtain a phone number is eliminated.

The second advantage is that customers with global operations can now have a single, unified voice solution. This makes it much simpler for customers to manage their communications and provides greater consistency in the customer and user experience.

By also selecting the GlobalRapide Cloud Number service, which is now available in more than 40 countries, customers can enable seamless inbound and outbound calling for provisioned numbers with flexible integration to most UC applications.

There are several use cases that GlobalRapide Cloud Number supports. One example would be a customer from the UK buying a US Cloud Number and contracting with Tata Communications UK for inbound and international outbound services under the GlobalRapide Global SIP arrangement.

Another example would be a customer choosing the bring your own carrier (BYOC) solution and contracting with Tata Communications where the platform is located in Australia and a Cloud Number for France has been requested for inbound and international outbound services, displaying a French calling line identification (CLI) Calling Line Identification. Finally, in a situation where a customer is integrating with cloud applications, such as Tata Communications Jamvee or GlobalRapide for Microsoft Teams/ Cisco Webex, and the user wants to be enabled with the outbound call and CLI, the GlobalRapide Cloud Number service enables the Cloud Number CLI for outbound calling.

The service offers advanced connectivity with a dial back option for numbers and enhanced outbound calling that introduces local CLIP (Calling Line Identification Presentation) for end users. Additional features include CLI options so users can choose their CLI requirement, BYOC so customers can keep their existing relationships if desired, CLI assurance, and dual number service so users can enjoy both inbound and outbound calling capabilities.

A further important aspect is the fraud management capability that Tata Communications has embedded in the GlobalRapide Cloud Number service. The company’s fraud controls have seen six million fraudulent call attempts blocked each month, over 110,000 blocked fraud phone number ranges and more than 400 customer alerts sent regarding suspicious traffic per month of which 85% are blocked for fraud. Four million tests are conducted each year to manage CLI delivery, echo, and latency as part of Tata Communications’ continuous quality testing and measurement processes, preventing over US$800 million in business damage a year.

Tata Communications has a robust enterprise cloud voice foundation and it plans to continue expanding its voice footprint by adding on three new countries a quarter. This elevates business communication and collaboration for its clients through seamless global reach, robust security and effortless integration.
