The new year is here, and for many companies, that means planning for an upgraded communication and collaboration strategy. If you’re ready to evolve your digital transformation roadmap in 2020, then there’s a good chance that you’ll want to start by making sure that you have the best business phone services that money can buy.

Fortunately, US News, a leading publication covering everything from reviews to the latest stories from throughout America, has just ranked its top contenders in the business phone service market. In December of 2019, the e-magazine researched the top business phone services in the marketplace to deliver a list of their top contenders, here’s who came out on top.

Dialpad, RingCentral, and Nextiva Excel

The top three business phone services listed by US News this year were Nextiva, RingCentral, and Dialpad. Nextiva was listed as “best overall,” while RingCentral earned the title of “Best for Customizing.” Finally, Dialpad was announced as the best business phone service for companies interested in using AI.

  • Nextiva: Benefits listed included an “out of the box” solution for small and mid-sized companies, a solution for mobile workspaces and offices, and the benefit of PBX phones that can be converted for use with the service
  • RingCentral: Advantages of business phone with RingCentral included support for both mobile and office-based workspaces, as well as integrations with over 180 business applications. US News also highlighted the fact that RingCentral has phone number service in over 100 countries
  • Dialpad: US News celebrated Dialpad’s ability to serve mobile and BYOD environments. The publication also appreciated Dialpad’s AI technology and real-time insights into customer conversations

Buying a Business Phone Service in 2020

Commenting on their list of the top business phone services for 2020, US News noted that choosing the perfect solution for 2020 isn’t always an easy process. In a world where there’s a significant amount of competition in the market, today’s companies have a lot of different factors to consider. According to Sam Sanstone, it used to be all comparing “apples to apples” in previous years, when phone systems were all virtually the same.

However, as the introduction of VoIP took over the market, and led to the rise of UCaaS and cloud-based solutions, it’s become easier than ever for vendors to offer extremely diversified portfolios. Today’s businesses can deliver everything from video conferencing and messaging, to business applications and contact centres with their phone systems. The marketplace is shifting, and the core components that business leaders consider when they’re purchasing or using a phone service are changing.

Additionally, President of Telecom Advisors Group, Phillip Sherman, noted that the number of providers selling the latest services is growing too. There are so many options to choose from in 2020, which means that job of a technology buyer in 2020 is sure to be more complicated than ever.
