Westcon-Comstor (Westcon), the leading value-added global distributor of security, unified communications, network infrastructure and data centre solutions, has confirmed an additional thirteen apprentices have joined the business as part of its apprentice programme. Following the success of a pilot programme involving six young people who joined in late 2016, the latest intake sees the business invest in young talent with placements in the sales, technical, services, marketing and project management teams.

The University route isn’t for everyone and many highly talented and motivated young people have a hunger to continue learning in the real-world on a track that suits their skills and interest. We provide that opportunity, one that allows them to develop and grow, and benefit from the considerable talents many bring from day-one, especially in key areas such as IT and digital skills.”

The Westcon-Comstor apprentice programme is in partnership with Remit Training. Westcon-Comstor provides relevant industry and technical skills development with Remit Training delivering training and development pertinent to the modern workplace. The programme runs for a period of twelve to eighteen months, after which the intention is for the apprentice to continue their development path, subject to performance during that time and role availability. A total of 19 apprentices are currently employed in Westcon-Comstor, adding-value in the key practices of Security, Networking Infrastructure and Data Centre, and Unified Communications.
