Unified comms provider Babble has continued its M&A spree with the acquisition of Ultracomms.

This latest deal bolsters the firm’s Contact Centre unit, which it launched in 2019.

Matt Parker, Chief Executive of Babble, said: “This year we will continue to acquire innovative and resilient businesses that are making an impact in the market, both to grow the capabilities we can provide to our customers and to fill our business with the best people in the industry.

“We have another five acquisitions in the pipeline in the next six months, and we’re on track to double our EBITDA run rate to £20m by November 2021”

Ultracomms specialises in Omnichannel and inbound and outbound solutions, according to its website, as well as secure payments and speech analytics. Its partners include Six Degrees, Colt, Counterpath and Dialogic.

The firm reported sales of £3.4m during 2019, according to filings with Companies House.

Derwyn Jones, CEO at UItracomms, said: “We are delighted to announce that Ultracomms is now part of Babble.

“A progressive and ambitious business such as Babble has the capabilities to continue to provide our customers with the technology and expertise, they require to further enhance their customer experience.”

This acquisition is the first since Babble took on investment from Graphite Capital at the end of last year, which valued it at £90m.

Babble said that the addition of Ultracomms doubles the size of its contact centre unit.

Parker recently told UC Today that he is aiming to double Babble’s gross income for a third consecutive year in 2021.

Previously acquired businesses have included Lake Technologies and Arden Group.
