BenQ has launched a new interactive display, the RP05, aimed at classrooms and offices that rely on collaborative technology.

The device combines on‑board artificial intelligence, Android 15, and Google’s Enterprise Devices Licensing Agreement (EDLA) certification, allowing organisations to run collaboration apps and AI features directly on the board without connecting an external PC.

The RP05 follows the company’s RP04 model, adding faster processing and a broader range of AI and collaboration tools.

β€œThe RP05 represents the next evolution of the BenQ Board,” said Carly Burton-Sallay, BenQ North America.

β€œIt’s more powerful than ever, with the fastest AI-ready chipset in the market to-date and a complete software ecosystem designed to support educators and teams at every step.

β€œOur goal is simple: to deliver smart, secure technology that enhances collaboration without forcing users to change the way they teach or work.”

AI‑Driven Collaboration

The RP05’s AI features operate on a 10 TOPS Neural Processing Unit, enabling AI-assisted whiteboarding, real-time content enhancement, automated transcription, and visual idea generation.

Users can search across lessons, presentations, and notes while taking advantage of multilingual support and accessibility tools.

The board also offers a 50-point Android touch interface, allowing multiple users to interact simultaneously, making it suitable for group brainstorming sessions or team workshops where several participants need to contribute in real time.

By handling AI tasks on the board itself, the RP05 reduces the need for connected laptops or other external devices, helping hybrid classrooms and meeting rooms run smoothly without technical interruptions.

The board also incorporates low-blue-light technology, certified germ-resistant surfaces, and Eyesafe 3.0 display certification to reduce eye strain and improve hygiene in environments where it is in frequent use.

Google EDLA and Management

A notable feature of the RP05 is its Google EDLA certification.

EDLA allows Android devices outside the smartphone and tablet market to integrate Google services, including the Play Store.

The certification enables direct access to Google Workspace apps and third-party applications, along with built-in security features such as Google Play Protect.

BenQ has also included software designed to simplify collaboration and device management.

EZWrite provides digital whiteboarding for lessons or brainstorming sessions, while InstaShare allows wireless screen sharing from multiple devices.

Device Management Solution (DMS) and Account Management System (AMS) support remote monitoring, updates, and secure cloud access.

Market Position and Competitors

The interactive display market has grown more competitive as schools and businesses move away from projector-based solutions toward large-format panels with native operating systems, integrated apps, and cloud collaboration tools.

Many vendors now offer EDLA-certified Android boards to provide seamless access to Google Workspace, Google Classroom, and third-party applications.

SMART Technologies announced in 2023 that its next-generation displays would run on Android 13 with EDLA support, enabling app access without external PCs and emphasising upgradability.

Optoma introduced Creative Touch 5-Series panels with EDLA certification in 2024, combining Android-based whiteboarding, remote collaboration tools, and cloud management for education and professional markets.

ViewSonic expanded its portfolio in 2026 with Android 16-powered ViewBoard models that are EDLA-certified, offering enhanced touch responsiveness and integration with its myViewBoard ecosystem.

Outside EDLA-certified Android boards, vendors including Newline, Promethean, Samsung, LG, and Sharp compete using Windows, ChromeOS, or proprietary platforms.

Newline currently leads the US market with nearly 30 percent share, followed by ViewSonic, Promethean, SMART, and Samsung.

Buyers weigh factors such as native Android support, app access, device management capabilities, and security, particularly for large-scale deployments. According to analysts, organisations increasingly prioritise boards that consolidate multiple workflows – whiteboarding, app access, and hybrid meeting facilitation – into a single device, rather than relying on separate PCs or connected modules.

Within this competitive landscape, BenQ positions the RP05 around on-device AI processing and an integrated software ecosystem as differentiators. The board is available now in an 86-inch model, with 65- and 75-inch variants expected in April 2026.

BenQ has also announced an RM05 series for organisations seeking scalable interactive display solutions.

Observers will be watching whether AI-ready boards like the RP05 gain traction among schools and businesses looking for more integrated, end-to-end collaboration platforms.
