AV company Jabra has announced new updates to the PanaCast 50 VBS aimed at giving IT admins and facility managers new deployment options.
“We have continued to strengthen Jabra’s PanaCast portfolio to evolve with changing needs,”
Holger Reisinger, SVP for Enterprise Video Business Unit at Jabra, said.
Available via firmware, the Android update promises greater flexibility, security, and experience enhancement for meetings.
Improving the PanaCast
The Jabra PanaCast 50 VBS is a video bar system designed for video conferencing in hybrid meeting environments.
It features eight professional-grade microphones, high-definition speakers, and a panoramic 4K camera with a 180-degree field of view.
It incorporates intelligent video technology, including automatic framing and intelligent zoom, which dynamically adjusts to focus on active speakers.
Additionally, the PanaCast 50 VBS is equipped with an onboard Android computer.
“New deployment options with enhanced security, and features that boost productivity, enable Android customers to get the most from their Jabra video solutions, giving them confidence that they are making a future-proof investment,” Reisinger said.
This new Android update allows the Jabra PanaCast 50 VBS to run in Permanent BYOD mode.
This enables users to manage meetings from a PC and meet different needs for different rooms.
With the added introduction of Wi-Fi connectivity to the PanaCast 50 VBS, facility managers and IT admins now have more flexibility to deploy and connect wherever there is Wi-Fi.
The update now sees all Jabra PanaCast Android-based solutions built on MDEP (Microsoft Devices Ecosystem Platform) solutions.
Both the updated PanaCast 50 VBS and new PanaCast 40 VBS, available mid-2025, offer flexible deployment options with enhanced security built on MDEP.
In addition, the update brings new features for the Jabra PanaCast 50 VBS to make meetings more productive.
The intelligent Meeting Space feature enables users to personalize and set virtual meeting space boundaries, excluding outside distractions—like for people in glass-walled rooms—while keeping the focus on participants in the room.
Jabra’s Start to 2025
Jabra has taken to the start of 2025 with a rollout of updates and releases that strengthen its AV offering.
This month, Jabra released an additional enhancement to its speakerphone Speak2 75, which allows for a linking capability between two devices.
It also released a new headset, Perform 75, which is AI-ready to augment communication for shift retail workers and boost collaboration and productivity.
