Google has rolled out a significant enhancement to its “Take Notes for Me” feature in Google Meet, changing how post-meeting intelligence is delivered to participants.

The update transforms the previously basic notification system into a comprehensive recap tool that delivers meeting summaries and suggested next steps directly within email notifications, eliminating the need for users to navigate to separate Google Docs.

Previously, users received only a link to a Google Doc containing generated notes after meetings concluded. The new functionality embeds the meeting summary and actionable items directly into the recap email, streamlining the post-meeting workflow for business users.

The updated “Take Notes for Me” functionality introduces a new workflow automation that elevates note-taking availability.

The system, which leverages Gemini AI, processes meeting audio in real time and, in addition to generating a transcript, creates structured summaries that identify key discussion points, decisions made, and action items assigned to specific participants.

The rollout follows Google’s extended deployment schedule, with Rapid Release track organizations receiving access before Scheduled Release subscribers.
