DTEN has received investment from Zoom to “accelerate new product and services innovations”, the firm has said.

Founded in 2015, the device manufacturer specialises in all-in-one video collaboration hardware – with a particular focus on Zoom Rooms compatibility.

Wei Liu, DTEN founder and CEO, said: “Zoom and DTEN are both dedicated to future-forward technology, seamless user experiences and a relentless pursuit of customer happiness.

“With this investment, DTEN is able to innovate even faster to support and advance the Zoom-connected world”

DTEN expanded its reach into the European market earlier this year when it added Nuvias to its distribution line-up.

The vendor said that the Zoom investment providers it with both financial and engineering support.

This is the second time Zoom has invested in one of its hardware partners in the last two months, after injecting $30m into Neat in September.

Kelly Steckelberg, Chief Financial Officer at Zoom, said: “Zoom is committed to empowering people to decide where, when, and how they work.

“Zoom’s investment recognises that DTEN shares our same goals to always make video-first communications frictionless, reliable, secure and productive”

Earlier this month, DTEN launched its as-a-service offering which combines devices, services support and management into a subscription in the US market.

The service is available for its entire product portfolio.
