DTEN will grow by at least 70% this year in its EMEA region, according to its general manager of EMEA.

The collaboration endpoints company, which recently announced the upcoming the DTEN ONboard digital whiteboard in conjunction with Zoom, is expanding globally as well as financially.

DTEN’s GM of EMEA told UC Today it has sold to 33 different countries in the EMEA region, with the UK, Germany and France representing its most active areas for business.

He also spoke about its relationship with Zoom, new applications for its technology, and DTEN’s future projects.

Doug Remington, GM / Head of EMEA at DTEN, said:

“We’ve been growing rapidly since we started up, and we grew by 70% last year, even coming out of a pandemic.

“We expect to do at least that this year because the offices are opening.

“Areas like education also really grew for us during the pandemic because our devices are a great application for the hybrid classroom.”

DTEN is gaining access to new markets as it spreads its operations around the world.

The company is now selling its product across Europe, North America, APAC, the Middle East, Africa, and LATAM. This means DTEN now has sales channels in every continent.

Following the recent expansion into the Middle East, where they now have a permanent representative, the company is also building business in Africa leveraging a network of partners and distributors. Regional and local partners bring improved support and language specialisations for customers.

One source of the company’s growth is Zoom’s investment in DTEN in October last year

Remington said: “[Our relationship with Zoom] is not just a financial. There’s a financial piece, but I think the bigger piece is the alignment between the product development and engineering teams.

“We were brought in to work with Zoom to do the hardware on the room side because the hardware was still clunky, complex and not the greatest experience.

“From the outset, we’ve worked with their engineering teams to deliver hardware solutions, which continues today.”

Another growing area for DTEN is the applications for its products beyond traditional office setups. One recent innovation that allows for this diversity is the integration of various DTEN products with Zoom’s Workspace Reservation

According to Remington: “We continue to see a rise in the education sector, which grew throughout the pandemic.

“Hybrid classroom teaching is big for us, and we’re also seeing other verticals like health care, hospitals, and the public sector where our devices are being used for meeting rooms.

“They’re also being used as kiosks, virtual receptionists, and hot desks.”

Looking to the future, Remington says DTEN is focusing on creating the best meeting and collaboration experiences and incorporating the future features on the Zoom roadmap. He explains that users can access Microsoft Teams, Webex, and applications via the Zoom interface.

Connecting to the Zoom Room’s interface allows guests to join a Microsoft Teams meeting. When you have a Zoom Room license on a device, it brings you access to a SIP connection allowing you to join meetings from other platforms.

DTEN will be exhibiting at Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) in Barcelona from 10 –13 May.
