Microsoft announced at Microsoft Ignite 2022 that Teams Meetings have been made available on Cisco Meetings Devices.

Teams meetings will be available natively across Cisco meeting devices, allowing customers to make Teams their default meeting platform.

Microsoft Ignite is an annual Microsoft conference geared towards IT professionals. It showcases the company’s latest products and services, as well as provides training, insights and networking opportunities This year, Microsoft Ignite is taking place live from the Seattle Convention Center (Seattle, Washington, USA) on October 12 – 14.

Teams Meetings on Cisco Meeting Devices

To begin with, Cisco’s six most popular meeting devices, as well as three peripherals, will be certified Teams meetings devices. Microsoft says more certified devices will be coming.

The first devices will be certified by early 2023, which include devices designed for small-to-large meeting room spaces: Cisco Room Kit Pro, Cisco Room Bar, Cisco Board Pro 55-inch and 75-inch.

The first peripheral to be certified is set to be the Cisco Desk Camera 4K; an intelligent USB webcam, which will be available by November.

Although these devices will have Microsoft Teams Rooms as their default setting, they will continue to support WebEx meetings.

The newly certified Cisco devices will be able to be managed from the Teams Rooms Pro Management Portal.

Cisco is also providing the optional extra of using its Cisco Cloud Control Hub, from which users will be able to manage their devices.

Jeff Teper, President, Collaborative Apps and Platforms at Microsoft, said: “Our vision to make Teams the best collaboration experience for physical spaces is brought to life by our incredible ecosystem of hardware partners.
