As WFH and hybrid work become a staple for organisations worldwide, a new breed of time-tracking tools is necessary that are device and location agnostic. ClockIt, established in 2014, provides a time and attendance solution that works with iPhones, Android devices, Microsoft Teams, Google Hangout, Zoom, physical kiosks, Slack, and as a web app. ClockIt is designed by TECSOL Software, a 2009-founded software product and services company based out of Dubai.
Using ClockIt, you can empower your employees to securely register their clock-in time from their devices or via biometric identification. It uses a unique machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithm to accurately calculate the number of hours worked so that you can bill projects and plan shifts accordingly.
ClockIt is used by mid-sized to large companies across the globe, including Schneider Electric and USC.

ClockIt provides a simple but rich experience across every channel where it is available. Its Microsoft Teams app fully integrates with the primary ClockIt platform so you can reconcile the hours clocked in via Teams with records received from other channels. The app features an intuitive bot that understands the necessary commands. Employees can clock in from their favourite collaboration hub at the beginning of every workday without opening a separate portal or visiting an attendance kiosk. Let us explore this feature in detail.
Inside ClockIt for Microsoft Teams
To install the ClockIt app for Microsoft Teams, you need to visit Microsoft AppSource and download the integration. Keep in mind that having a ClockIt account (paid) is a prerequisite for using the service, and you need to have your time and attendance systems properly set up so that employees can interact with them from Teams. ClockIt starts at $29 per month for up to 10 users, and more premium editions can be used to support larger teams and custom requirements like API-based access.
You can also visit the application store on Microsoft Teams from your left navigation pane to download the ClockIt app. Here are the features it enables:
- The ClockIt chatbot – The ClockIt chatbot is how your users will interact with the ClockIt app. Once the app is installed, you can open ClockIt from the left navigation pane and log in with your credentials. The chatbot will guide you through the entire process, displaying an adaptive card you can use to sign in to ClockIt without opening the primary platform.
- Punch in/punch out – This is the app’s core value proposition. You can have employees punch in and out directly from the Microsoft Teams environment, from a desktop or mobile. This allows employees to start their workday from any location and punch out at the right time without clocking in inaccurate overtime hours simply because they did not have access to an attendance kiosk or their desktop. You can access this feature by interacting with the app – type in “punch” at the beginning and end of every workday to register your punch-in and punch-out time.
- Timesheet status checker – You can also use the ClockIt app to check your timesheet status on Microsoft Teams. When you type in the command “status” into the ClockIt chatbot, it will return a status summary for the day. You can view whether you are currently punched in or punched out. It will also show you your punch-in time and break hours if any. That way, employees can check if they have completed their allotted shift before they punch out via Teams.
- Integration with payroll – The biggest advantage of using the ClockIt Teams app as an administrator is that it integrates with payroll at the backend. Whenever employees punch in, pun out or take breaks, it is recorded in a unified timesheet synchronised with your payroll systems. It will directly generate employee compensation or hour-based billing calculations without exporting data or churning the numbers manually.
- Easy report generation – The ClockIt software platform generates consolidated reports for hours worked by every employee, even when they punch in via different channels. This means that biometric attendance and Teams-abed attendance are consolidated into one report.
Why the ClockIt App Makes a Difference
ClockIt has one job and does it well. Employees can punch in and punch out flexibly while reducing back-end payroll efforts.
