Welcome back to another thrilling week of news and updates from the UC, Collaboration, and Customer Experience landscape. It’s been a jam-packed seven days in the industry, thanks to events like Zoomtopia, and updates from the Cisco Webex team.

As the focus on flexible work and collaboration continues to grow, Google introduced its new Series One Room Kit, while Genesys strengthened its partnership with BT. Elsewhere, Dialpad is taking new strides into the era of intelligent communication with a successful $100 million funding round.

What’s New for Webex?

Over the last few weeks, we’ve been reporting non-stop on the newest updates from Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and other collaboration market leaders. Now, the Cisco Webex team is joining the battle, with a host of new updates to the Webex experience. For the October update, you can expect to see a variety of changes to Webex Meetings, Teams, and more.

Webex Meetings is upgrading to a better user experience, with a new audio/video preview section where you can apply virtual backgrounds and blur your surroundings. There are also new meeting controls to explore and updated Meeting hardware to consider. In Webex Teams, Cisco will be simplifying interactions with one-click app access and a more convenient interface. Check out the changes here.

Zoom Launches OnZoom and Zapps

As part of the massive Zoomtopia 2020 event, the leading video conferencing solution provider announced a host of updates to its service, with new changes too Zoom Meetings, Phone, and Rooms. Some of the most exciting updates for this year come in the form of OnZoom and Zapps.

OnZoom is a new event solution designed for people who want to create, host, and make the most of the events they run with the Zoom Meetings platform. The offering will arrive internationally in 2021, with a platform fee and a host of unique features to access. On the other hand, Zapps are Zoom’s approach to next-generation app integrations that bring more of the tools you use every day into your Zoom environment. Learn more about OnZoom and Zapps here. The Series One Google Meet Kit Arrives

Google is back with more updates to the Google Meet experience this week, in the form of the fantastic Series One hardware kit. The Google Meet Series One room kit is the first room solution that brings the power of AI video into the business environment, for next-generation meetings. This hardware package includes a soundbar and compute system, as well as a screen for collaboration.

There are three room size configurations to choose from with this package, built-in collaboration with Lenovo. The Series One aims to offer more convenient conferencing experiences through onboard AI with Edge TPUs, TrueVoice voice isolation, Power over Ethernet, and 4K smart cameras. Genesys and BT Strengthen Partnership

Leading contact centre and customer experience solution provider, Genesys, recently announced an updated partnership with BT. The new agreement allows British Telecoms to sell and support the Genesys Cloud technology, offering more advanced features to the business landscape. Genesys Cloud is the all-in-one cloud offering from Genesys and the leading public cloud contact centre solution on the market.

BT will be adding the Genesys Cloud experience to its portfolio for business users, building on the existing Genesys Engage offering that’s already available. This is an exciting step forward for BT and Genesys, who can now serve a wider audience with easy cloud-based solutions. Learn more about the partnership here.

Dialpad Earns $100 Million in Funding

Providers of the innovative AI-powered cloud contact centre, Dialpad, recently announced a new round of Series E funding. The round, which rose $100 million in total, demonstrates the growing demand for Dialpad’s immersive AI solutions. Dialpad was the first communications provider and contact centre solutions company to deliver real-time transcription, voice analytics, and live sentiment analysis to companies.

The new capital earned through the latest round of funding will help to push Dialpad towards the next level of intelligent tools for contact centre management and customer experience.
