Avaya, one of the leading brands in the world for cloud communication and collaboration, recently held their “ENGAGE” conference between the 20th and 23rd of January this year. The conference is one of the world’s largest events for unified communications and contact centre users, where Avaya partners and customers came together to explore new products and explore the potential of the Avaya portfolio.

I was lucky enough to attend Avaya Engage this year, and while I was there, I caught up with Michael Kuch, the Product Management & Marketing Strategy Executive for Telecoms, IoT and Cloud in Avaya.

Tell Us About What You’ve Been Up to In the Last 12 Months

One of the major announcements at Avaya Engage was the introduction of a new simplified branding architecture for the Avaya solutions portfolio. Designed to improve the convergence of business communications, the Avaya IX (Intelligent Xperiences) solution encompasses an entire collection of communication, collaboration and contact centre solutions. Kuch told me:

“It’s all about convergence. Over the last 12 months we’ve delivered over 100 product releases, so we need to make sure that we’re making the experience as simple and straightforward as possible for partners and end-users.”

According to Mike, Avaya wants to make their portfolio as easy, streamlined and modern as possible in the age of evolving user and customer experience.

“We’ve been listening to what people need in this industry”

A Complete Solution in One Portfolio

The Avaya IX portfolio is designed to give end-users and Avaya partners everything that they need in a single environment, ensuring a more streamlined workforce. It’s available across various CCaaS and UCaaS deployments, including public, hybrid, and private options under the Avaya OneCloud platform. As Mike noted:

“There are only a couple of companies out there that offer both UC and CC. We’re unique because we’re bringing it all together – we do everything, and we give people the platform they need in the environment that’s right for them.”

Kuch said that Avaya wanted to make sure that their cloud solution was as simple as possible before they began looking for new ways to take their customers to the next level with technology.

How Is Avaya Encouraging Adoption of the Cloud?

Part of Avaya’s convergence strategy is to make all of their services available through the cloud so that customers can be as agile and flexible as they want to be. To encourage their partners and resellers to follow them on their path to cloud, Avaya has introduced solutions like Loyalty 2gether – their comprehensive suite of services designed to help partners move customers into the cloud.

“We also incentivise partners directly. We know that some struggle more than others, and we deliver benefits on a per-seat basis so that our community knows that they’re going to get a return on their investment. We’ve seen a huge amount of success with this strategy.”

Kuch told me that Avaya is excellent at driving cloud adoption in part because they’re so close to their partners. This means that they can work together with them to deliver custom solutions that provide the whole package for end-users. “We have a lot of different technology to offer, as well as the professional services available that make it easier for people to upgrade. For us, the future is all about making the cloud as simple and straightforward as possible.”
