Presenter Patrick brings you the latest news updates from the last few weeks. The UC Today News Update will bring you regular videos summarising the biggest stories from the worlds of unified communications, collaboration and customer experience.

First up on the news agenda is the latest development in the ongoing Avaya situation. It was revealed last week that Avaya and UCaaS leader, RingCentral will form a partnership making RingCentral Avaya’s exclusive UCaaS Partner. Patrick covers off the details of the deal.

Some news from the analyst community next as the Newsround covers the Forbes Cloud 100 list which includes several vendors you may recognise from the worlds of UC, CX and collaboration. Gartner also unveiled its Magic Quadrant for Meeting Solutions. Patrick takes a brief look the latest MQ results as there are some new additions to the quadrant.

Microsoft Ignite is the next big event on the calendar. Microsoft’s customer conference takes place in November but there are still various new features that have been added to Microsoft Teams platform, which Patrick highlights. It hasn’t been such a good few weeks for Slack as its share price feel significantly after lower than expected financial results in its first release as a publicly trading company.

Finally Patrick covers off some European news as the Within Reach Group, made up of several leading brands including Centile, Voiceworks and Swyx has announced that it is rebranding to become Enreach. As well as the new name for the group the management team also announced it was acquiring UK based communications firm Network Telecom to strengthen its position in the British market.
