Fuze, the leading cloud-based communications solution provider for the modern global enterprise, has been selected by SAS International, a British manufacturer of interior building products, to modernize its business communications approach. The initiative is part of a wider digital transformation journey that will see SAS Internationalβs entire IT and communications infrastructure move to the cloud.
Leading the industry in innovation and cutting edge design, SAS International is best known for its award-winning metal ceiling systems, which can be seen in landmark projects worldwide. Fuzeβs business communications platform, which brings together voice, HD conferencing and collaboration features, is being rolled out to over 600 employees across SAS Internationalβs headquarters in Reading, UK, three factories in Wales, Scotland and England, and four further offices in Dubai, Ireland, Hong Kong and Australia.
Through its pure-cloud delivery model, Fuze will support SAS Internationalβs mobile workforce by providing the same communication features and experience regardless of where they are and the devices they are using. The number of mobile workers has grown by 25 percent in the last two years and is expected to increase further with the introduction of the new platform.
The Fuze deployment is being driven by group IT manager James Greene as part of a three-year plan to overhaul IT and communications at SAS International. Fuze was chosen following an 18-month procurement process in which the company considered solutions from Mitel, Skype for Business and 8Γ8. Greene recognized Fuzeβs ability to improve efficiency, enhance collaboration and scale globally with a minimum CapEX investment.

Fuze replaces several aging and unreliable Nortel and Siemens PBX systems, which experienced frequent outages exacerbated by an old and unreliable network. Fuzeβs multi-datacentre architecture design, which ensures 99.999% uptime and business continuity, has eradicated the issues around connectivity and downtime β essential in an industry that is phone-reliant β and astronomical repair costs associated with the previous on-premises systems.
βComms is often the biggest challenge when it comes to upgrading IT as itβs an aspect of business that is highly visible and that everyone interacts withβ said James Greene, Group IT Manager, SAS International.
βThe benefits of using Fuze are widespread and weβre expecting to see ROI within 12 months. Weβre already planning the expansion of Fuze across our contact centre and custom integrations with our other critical business systems.β
βFuze is often a lightbulb moment for organsations like SAS International, which have suffered with failing communications and IT infrastructure for years,β commented Kris Wood, VP EMEA, Fuze.
βConnecting mobile workers and global offices doesnβt need to be a complicated or expensive process. The cloud gives enterprises the ability to choose what they need and pay for what they use, while enjoying multiple rewards including enhanced efficiency, financial savings and improved collaboration.β
