Sinch has been approved for Microsoft’s Operator Connect (OC) programme, allowing customers to utilise its voice services in Microsoft Teams.
Today’s announcement also revealed that Sinch would be able to provide access to emergency services through the Teams’ voice platform.
Sinch believes its low costs, intuitive self-service portal, and emergency services provider approval help it stand out against its competitors. It says operating the largest independent voice network allows it to offer exceptional value for money.

The Sinch website reports savings of up to 50% with its pay-per-usage model, and the set-up time from purchase to portal is one day.
Emergency services through Microsoft Teams and Sinch’s network infrastructure can be enabled via an E911 solution, which includes a 911 nomadic location manager, routing, and call transport.
Sinch says it has a 99.999% uptime track record over its voice network, the largest tier 1 network in the US, providing 94% population coverage.
Operator Connect is a means of providing Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) connectivity with Teams.
Four benefits of OC pointed to by Microsoft are being able to keep your existing operator, saving money on hardware and management, quick and easy deployment, and improved technical support services.
Microsoft announced the release of Operator Connect at Ignite 2021. It introduced Operator Connect Mobile in March 2022, and the following month, it launched Microsoft Operator Connect Accelerator to help carriers get OC approval faster.
Microsoft has already approved a number of Operator Connect providers, including BT, Deutsche Telecom, Nuwave, Pure IP, Gamma, TATA Communications, Telefonica, Verizon, and others. Enreach gained OC approval in March this year.
