Zoom to debut new phone solutions at UC EXPO
Zoom, a leading video conferencing provider, committed to bringing teams and people together around the globe, has announced something new. There’s a significant expansion planned for the Zoom Phone cloud PBX strategy, with a beta launch in Australia and the United Kingdom.
Alongside the growth of the Phone service, Zoom also commented that it would be offering extra enhancements, like “BYOC” (Bring your Own Carrier) opportunities.
Zoom Phone has already emerged as an exciting voice communication strategy, perfect for the collaboration environment today. The Zoom Phone experience taps into the many benefits of the complete Zoom Meetings service, with support for outbound and inbound calling via your standard PSTN lines, and integrated telephony capabilities for companies that want to replace their conventional PBX with a flexible service on the cloud.
What can Zoom Phone Do for Your Communications?
Designed to deliver a comprehensive communication and collaboration service for the modern business environment, Zoom Phone allows customers to upgrade old-fashioned PBX strategies and consolidate their communication network. Zoom has always focused on delivering a video-first platform, but the Zoom Phone call service gives businesses an option to skip the video component if they need to quickly discuss issues with voice alone.
Of course, upgrading to a Zoom Video Meeting is simple, with functionality available at the touch of a button. The Zoom Phone service also links in with the Zoom Contact Center Partner program, which offers native integrations with charter members like Twilio and Five9. You can also expect handy integrations with CRM systems like Salesforce, and a zero-touch provisioning option through hardware providers like Yealink and Poly.
What’s New to Zoom Phone?
According to the Head of Product Management for Zoom, Oded Gal, the company has done everything possible to innovate quickly, so that they could expand the functionality and reach of Zoom Phone for their customers. Zoom’s team is thrilled to be extending the services into key markets across Australia and the UK while introducing new features like BYOC.
The Bring Your Own Carrier feature allows users to access the benefits of Zoom Phone through their existing SIP PSTN trunks. Large companies that don’t want to waste investments on a rip and replace strategy will be able to use the Zoom Phone cloud PBX service powered with another carrier, move to Zoom as their carrier over time, or stay on their existing carrier.
Zoom’s commitment to BYOC gives their enterprise customers more freedom and flexibility to choose how they manage their digital transformation strategy. According to Gal, the feature also allows Zoom to deliver its phone service to any country – even those were a localised service isn’t available yet.
The beta service for the UK and Australian customers will be available upon request from the 19th of May. Zoom will also be showcasing the benefits of Zoom Phone, Zoom Meetings, and Zoom Rooms in more depth at UC EXPO, on the 15th and 16th of May in London.
