BambooHR has launched a new services portfolio designed to help organizations manage the growing operational demands that come with scaling HR functions.

The new offering, called BambooHR Services, introduces consulting, technical support, and outsourcing capabilities to complement the use of the company’s HR software platform.

The launch aims to alleviate challenges in areas such as payroll management and regulatory compliance, which often require high levels of accuracy and oversight and create additional pressure on HR teams already managing expanding workforces.

β€œAs our customers grow, they consistently tell us that as their responsibilities expand, it’s not the software that slows them downβ€”it’s the sheer volume and complexity of people work,” said Tara Martell, Chief Customer Officer at BambooHR. β€œBambooHR Services is a direct response to that need, giving customers added flexibility.”

Consulting, Technical Support, and Outsourcing

BambooHR Services is structured around three core offerings: HR Consulting, Technical Services, and HR Outsourcing. Together, they provide organizations with additional expertise and operational support alongside BambooHR’s HR technology platform.

The HR Consulting service connects customers with dedicated HR professionals who advise on workforce policies, organizational planning, and HR processes. Each customer is paired with a consultant familiar with their business environment and BambooHR configuration, allowing for tailored recommendations and strategic guidance.

Consultants can also provide administrative support within the BambooHR platform. By handling routine HR tasks directly in the system, the service is designed to reduce the administrative workload on HR teams, enabling them to focus on higher-value priorities such as employee engagement and workforce planning.

The second offering, Technical Services, helps organizations deploy and optimize their BambooHR environment. It includes platform configuration, integration support, reporting setup, and assistance with maintaining data integrity across systems. The service also offers advanced payroll reporting to help organizations gain deeper insight into their payroll and workforce metrics.

The most operational component of the new portfolio is HR Outsourcing, which BambooHR is initially launching with a Managed Payroll service. This allows BambooHR specialists to run payroll directly within the platform on behalf of customers.

Under the managed model, BambooHR experts oversee payroll execution to ensure payments are processed accurately and on time. The service also includes compliance monitoring designed to help organizations reduce risk in payroll processing and regulatory requirements.

Unlike traditional HR outsourcing models, customers are not required to enter a Professional Employer Organization (PEO) arrangement. Instead, organizations retain full ownership of their workforce policies and decision-making while outsourcing the operational aspects of payroll management.

Service, Alongside Solutions

The introduction of managed services marks a significant expansion for BambooHR, which has historically focused on delivering HR software to small and midsize businesses.

By adding operational service delivery to its platform, the company is positioning itself to provide more comprehensive support to HR teams that may lack the internal resources to manage administrative functions at scale.

This represents a strategic shift for BambooHR from being a pure-play HR technology provider to becoming a hybrid provider of software and services. It mirrors moves by larger enterprise HR players like ADP and Paychex but is relatively new territory for the SMB-focused vendor.

This new approach could help differentiate BambooHR from other solution-only providers.

The Next Phase ofΒ  Platform Growth

With the launch of BambooHR Services, the company is signaling a broader effort to support customers beyond its core HRIS platform.

As organizations scale, many HR leaders face growing operational demands that extend beyond what software alone can address.

By combining consulting expertise, technical support, and operational outsourcing, BambooHR aims to offer a more flexible support structure for HR teams navigating expansion. The model allows organizations to choose the level of support they need while maintaining visibility into HR operations.

As businesses continue to expand their workforces and HR processes become more complex, BambooHR expects demand for integrated HR support to grow. With BambooHR Services now available, the company is positioning its platform as not only a technology solution but also a resource for HR teams seeking additional expertise and operational assistance as they scale.
