Bose Professional has supplied the advanced audio system for Roe, a new Canary Wharf-based fine-dining and socially conscious restaurant.
The AV vendor partnered with Marquee AV to design and install a premium sound system for the restaurant. Marquee AV, based in Shepperton, was commissioned to design an audio system that would deliver elegant background tunes by day and amplify vibrant DJ performances by night.
Roe, the new Wood Wharf eatery from the Fallow and FOWL team, champions sustainable dining with a nose-to-tail, root-to-stem menu that spotlights underutilised British ingredients. The venue, featuring two private dining areas with video conferencing capabilities, required an integrated audio solution that also navigated the challenges posed by its distinctive layout and aesthetic.
Marquee AV outlined that Roe desired an unobtrusive yet high-quality audio solution to blend with the modern, coral-reef-themed interiors. The circular structure, surrounded by all-around glass windows, offers scenic South Dock views but poses acoustic challenges. Marquee AV collaborated with designers to devise a solution that aimed to be both aesthetically pleasing and sonically effective.
More Specifics On The Audio Setup
The FreeSpace 3 Acoustimass series, with its in-ceiling loudspeakers and flush-mounted Bass Modules, was chosen for its high-quality sound suitable for both ambient music and dynamic DJ sets. Positioned throughout the main dining areas, they provide a seamless audio experience, smoothly concealed within the ceiling’s wooden details to complement the restaurant’s minimalist design.
Roe’s ground floor boasts a vibrant private dining space encased in large windows and surrounded by an innovative aeroponic farming system. This soil-free cultivation method, which nourishes plants with nutrient-rich mist, contributes to the room’s lush atmosphere. Marquee AV highlighted that the Bose Professional FS4CE speakers, discreetly embedded in the ceiling, deliver superior sound quality without disrupting the serene, forest-inspired setting.
The first-floor private dining space at Roe, which accommodates videoconferencing, is a prime spot for corporate gatherings. Marquee AV installed the Bose Professional VB1 for its user-friendly connectivity, complemented by two FS4SE speakers for clear sound, making it ideal for both meetings and private events.
