Boom has launched a new video kit designed to enhance AV quality for huddle rooms and smaller locations.

“In recent years, there’s been an explosion in huddle room deployments, and our new kit is ideally suited to these types of smaller, more versatile locations,”

Boom Co-Founder Holli Hulett said.

Billed as a ‘meeting room in a box’, the conferencing manufacturer has focused on video, audio and connectivity for an all-in-one solution.

Meeting Room In A Box

The Bring Your Own Meeting kit offers three devices: a camera, speakerphone, and one cable connection hub.

With hot desking and hybrid work becoming increasingly common for many businesses, the ability to enable high-quality meetings in ever-changing environments is becoming critical, especially as AI is increasingly used.

Not only does this mean the availability of main meeting rooms booked, the ever-changing audio and video dimension requirements, but different devices will now need to be used to host the meetings.

“The use of individual devices is now firmly taking over with plug-and-play simplicity, lower costs and a platform agnostic approach some of the main driving forces,”

Boom Co-Founder, Fredrik Hörnkvist, said.

“This is especially popular for SMBs embracing hybrid work. They greatly outnumber bigger organisations by around 1000:1, so there’s more volume and more reseller opportunities compared to fully-fledged room systems.”

As a result, Boom’s BYOM Small Room Kit uses a ZYGO plug-and-play for its connection hub.

Boom’s Zygo offers a one-cable connection, multiple 4K screens and camera connectivity, plus the ability to charge individual devices.

It combines ease of use with triple 4K display connections, is platform agnostic, and has a device capacity of 2x USB-C 10G ports and 4x USB-A 5G ports.

On the AV side, the camera features the MEZZO 4K wide-angle camera and GIRO Pro professional wireless audio speaker with a 360° omnidirectional microphone.

“Our new range of meeting room in a box kits simplify the process of choosing the right equipment for the right rooms, to optimise the overall user experience and take away any installation headaches, whichever route is taken,” Hulett said.

The Future of Work

Despite there being much noise about the RTO mandates being rolled out across big companies in the US like Amazon and JP Morgan, Boom remains bullish on the need for huddle-targeted solutions.

“The flexibility and lower cost of BYOM solutions – where users bring their laptops or mobile devices to connect to a room’s AV system – has seen a significant rise, as hybrid and flexible work models became more common,” Hulett said. “In many ways, huddle rooms represent the market hot-spot.”

Boom states their recent release is not only designed to simplify installations but also to further inspire demand for Bring Your Own Meeting deployments (BYOM).
