Global market leader in conferencing, collaboration, and networking streaming solutions, ClearOne, recently announced the delivery of new features to its collaboration tool. The COLLABORATE Space platform will now be able to support multiple classroom capabilities, including multi-screen support and enhanced security for academic environments.

According to the Chair and CEO of ClearOne, Zee Hakimoglu, the COLLABORATE Space system has been carefully created to protect users against a range of collective security and privacy vulnerabilities common among other cloud solutions. The robust security design intends to provide educational institutions with the effective and reliable tools they need to connect remotely with students and colleagues around the world.

The new classroom functionalities found within the COLLABORATE platform will deliver things like Q&A participation for users, giving students the option to use an electronic “hand raise” function to ask questions. There’s also additional moderator control over video and audio for all participants, and support for up to 100 users at once. Other participants can also be added to a classroom in increments of 100 too.

Moderators also have the option to transfer the role of presenter over to any participant during a session. The COLLABORATE space now also comes with multi-display support for the host of any conference, with the option to use up to 3 displays at once, one for local participants, one for remote users, and one for content sharing requirements. Other updates to the collaborative platform include functionalities for better online meetings, enhanced scheduling, file sharing, messaging, whiteboarding, meeting minute recordings, and annotations.

Bringing Teachers and Learners Together

The enhanced COLLABORATE Space environment unifies multiple users in a learning environment through content, video, and audio, with the option to make calls to mobile phones and landlines. Users also can create searchable public and private channels organised by topic, which comes with their messages, notes, agendas, whiteboards, recordings, and more.

The updated platform also has a user-friendly interface that’s simple for both teachers and students to use on any device, including desktops, mobiles, and all COLLABORATE room systems. The solution includes gateway software for interoperability with traditional SIP and H.323 systems too. There are even white-label opportunities available for resellers to apply their own brand to the experience.

The newly updated version of COLLABORATE Space is now available through ClearOne resellers and representatives around the world.
