Leading communications provider to the UK business sector, Gamma, has beefed up its Horizon Cloud PBX proposition with the announcement of Horizon Collaborate.
By bringing collaboration tools into Horizon, customers can experience integrated instant messaging and presence, voice, video, desktop and application sharing capabilities. Existing Horizon users can benefit immediately by adding Horizon Collaborate via the Gamma portal service. New customers going through the process of digital transformation and workplace modernisation now have another competitive service to add to their ‘evaluate’ list.
Integrated collaboration solutions – Microsoft Teams, Cisco Webex Teams, Avaya Equinox, Mitel’s MiCollab, GoToConnect, now Horizon Collaborate and so the list lengthens – offer customers the opportunity to take a long look at how and where they work. ‘Seamless’ applications across multiple devices and platforms promise freedom to the deskbound and more close-knit team-working for the remote. How far and fast organisations move to adopt new practices is open to question. However, one thing is certain: the appetite for digital transformation, with collaboration topping talking by 2025, is only set to get much larger, so Gamma’s move is a timely one.
According to said Mark Senior, Gamma Product Manager – Unified Communications & Collaboration:
“We know that communication has always been essential to the success of any business. More and more customers are on the lookout for communication technology that is agile and flexible to their needs”
Customer and user experience central to adoption
Of course, customers want tools to fit their needs. With Gamma joining the fray in the form of Horizon Collaborate, what will see it on, at, or near the top of that ‘evaluate’ list? According to Justin Coombes, Gamma Head of Marketing, it’s not so much about feature richness but more about how collaboration complements other services, delivers a simple, rewarding and intuitive user experience and high quality of service. “It’s the simple things that make the difference to a user. Having one intuitive experience in and out of the organisation for employees, customers and suppliers is important. No long PINs, drag and drop people into meetings, share, talk and message with limited clicks and a high quality of service are what makes adoption nice and simple”, Coombes said.
Raised Horizon raises customer appeal

With a claimed UK number one UCaaS position in terms of seats, Coombes also feels Horizon Collaborate will be instrumental in enabling Gamma to go beyond its SME heartland and appeal to more mid-market and enterprise-sized customers. Gamma’s goal to be: “UK and Europe UCaaS market leader by 2023”
is ambitious, but one Coombes has every confidence of achieving. Pointing out that Gamma’s quality of service is right up with the best because “our network underpins our services (including core mobile), so we’re telco and ISP in one and not reliant on public internet like many competing brands”. An extensive network of channel partners and being “very hot on customer experience from our focus on customer service and support”, lends weight to Coombes view that Horizon Cloud can quickly reach and appeal to a broader range of digitally transforming customers. These customers want the advantages of “consolidating into one environment without all the issues of disparate systems and the associated overlay costs”.
In a rapidly evolving and growing UCaaS market, by adding Horizon Collaborate to its Horizon Cloud PBX, Gamma is in a much stronger position to compete and fuel its market momentum.
