Sonus Networks, a global leader in securing cloud and real-time communications, has announced that its newest Session Border Controllers (SBCs) have earned Skype for Business Server Certification. As a result, Sonus offers the largest portfolio of Skype for Business Certified SBCs to customers. With these new certifications, Sonus delivers right-sized solutions for any deployment scenario and helps facilitate seamless communications anytime, anyplace.

With the addition of the SBC 5400 and SBC Software Edition (SWe) Lite, Sonus offers more Skype for Business Server Certified SBCs than any other vendor. The portfolio delivers increased flexibility for customers with hardware appliances and virtualised solutions that serve as few as five to as many as 150,000 concurrent calls. Additionally, the SBC 1000 and SBC 2000 come equipped with an embedded server that can be used to run Skype for Business Cloud Connector Edition, a survivable or resilient branch appliance or additional anti-virus and anti-malware solutions.

Sonus is actively providing Practical Guidance for Cloud Voice assets to help navigate the planning, delivery and operation of Skype for Business. These assets help customers secure Skype for Business deployments and connect legacy telephony systems to Cloud PBX.

Sonus has worked closely with Microsoft to secure unified communications for more than a decade. The two companies continue to enable customer journeys to the cloud, where they can benefit from the latest collaboration applications, including Microsoft Teams.

“There are a lot of considerations when migrating to Microsoft Skype for Business, and environments are rarely static,” said Kevin Isacks, vice president, Engineering, Sonus. “Our flexible offerings address the needs of small, medium and large enterprises and can adapt as they change.”

“We’re thrilled with the level of integration and support that Sonus has delivered to our customers,” said Tiffany Wissner, Senior Director, Skype for Business Product Marketing at Microsoft Corp.

“Sonus helps our customers create an enterprise-grade communications and collaboration solution using Skype for Business with their existing infrastructure.”

“According to Nemertes’ latest benchmark research, nearly 70% of organisations now use Microsoft Skype for Business collaboration and are increasingly adopting it for telephony.  Meanwhile, of those who have adopted team chat apps, 35% are using Microsoft Teams, creating challenging deployment scenarios that mix on-premises and cloud applications,” said Irwin Lazar, Vice President and Service Director, Nemertes Research.

“Introducing new technology, combined with changes in the number and location of employees, force businesses to grapple with evolving deployment scenarios. Truly successful implementations require flexibility, so it’s smart for organisations to choose vendors that can adapt to fluctuating needs.”
