Crestron Electronics has released the TST-1080 Wireless Touch Screen, which offers customisable controls for video conferencing and presentations.

Describing itself as a “global leader in workplace collaboration and control technology”, Crestron has designed the device for both commercial and residential setups.

As well as conferencing and presentation systems, the Crestron TST-1080 is compatible with a broad spectrum of devices and systems, including lighting and shades, HVAC and home theatre, and more.

For example, Crestron explains in its product release:

“The TST-1080 is compatible with the XiO Cloud service for remotely provisioning, monitoring, and managing Crestron devices across an enterprise or an entire client base.

“XiO Cloud management enables installers and IT managers to deploy and manage thousands of devices simultaneously.

“Unlike other virtual machine-based cloud solutions, it provides unlimited scalability to suit the ever-growing needs of an enterprise.”

Crestron TST-1080 Features

TST-1080 has a 10.1-inch LED touchscreen with customisable controls over media presentation.

Advanced features include video streaming from cameras and other sources, controlling touch screen functions, Rava SIP intercom, and an internet browser.

It also offers a universal status bar that has virtual buttons for quick access to basic touch functions.

The buttons are configured with Home, Up, Down, Lights, Power, and microphone, and they can be programmed with custom functions using the Crestron Control system. Any buttons which do not serve a purpose can be hidden.

The device is in the style of a thin tablet, which is perfect for keeping in a fixed location or traveling with.

It is made further portable with its rechargeable battery which has nine hours of continuous use between charges.

The TST-1080 supports Wifi 5/6 communications, while WPA/WPA2 Enterprise encryption enables secure connectivity.

The Crestron Construct UI editing tool is also supported by the TST-108. The UI editing tool is an HTML5-based user interface editing tool for Crestron Control devices, facilitating rich user interfaces at scale, according to Crestron.

The Crestron Home OS whole home solution can also be controlled by the TST-1080.

Users can choose the Crestron Home app from the touch screen to customise the lighting, shades, cameras,  media, climate, and security.

Home ‘scenes’ can also be designed and recalled to meet individual household requirements.

The Crestron TST-1080 will begin shipping on July 14, 2023, for the manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $3,800.

Earlier this month, Crestron announced three new hybrid meeting products to improve productivity and collaboration.

Expanding the Crestron Digital Workplace Portfolio, the company launched Crestron Desk Q and Crestron Desk Touch for desk scheduling, Crestron Flex Pods – a scalable tabletop microphone and speaker platform, and the Crestron Videobar 70 – an all-in-one collaboration bar for Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, and BYOD meeting spaces.

In April 2023, the Mercedes-AMG F1 team chose Crestron as a technology partner to provide its communications experience for racing.

They are deploying the Crestron Flex Digital Workplace Platform and Crestron DM NVX AV-over-IP technology to support its Operations Center with real-time data being reported back on race day to create a complete experience for guests watching from the facility.
